Someone asked about the barn cat – here he/she is! What a sweet face! Still afraid of me however.
And here is Chicklet all grown up.
And here is the whole family – Daddio, Mama and Chicklet.
Today was our last fire in the fireplace for the season.
I should have taken a “before” picture of the porch before I swept up the firewood mess. I can’t wait to sit in the porch again!
Here’s Hazel sleeping in my lap as I drink coffee and watch TV news this morning. How sweet is this?
I love it when she sleeps on my lap – such sweetness in a little furry body.
Connie and I got together to price quilts for the sale on Saturday. Here’s one armload ready to go!
I love Connie’s cat named Ruthie!
Hazel made her first visit to the vet this afternoon. She weighs 6.3 lbs – a bundle of energy and fun!
Love seeing and reading about Hazel and all the other animals! Hazel is adorable! You’re bonding!
Sweeter than sweet, that little Hazel is!!
Maybe Barn Cat would like some tuna. I bet he/she would come to you if he/she got a whiff of it. I’m sure you probably don’t want to get him/her hooked on the fancy stuff but you may be able to pet him/her if you bribed him/her with it. You know, just once.
I love the name “Hazel”! She looks likeep such a sweetheart. Is she laid back? Thanks for all the wonderful pictures. I look forward to your postings e eryday.
Pam – she is laid back during certain parts of the day. When she gets overly tired late at night, she becomes the terrier!
Great pics TODAY..thx for sharing
i needed them today🤗
love the lil Flag pillow, just to far to shop..hope it goes to Good home🤗
I love your animal pics and stories as much as I like the pics and stories of the quilts!
Either you’re the lucky dog to have Hazel or she’s the lucky dog to have you!
Hazel is so sweet I can’t stand it!!!! Does she still have puppy breath?
I can’t believe how chicklet has turned out. Wow! I am just loving your Hazel pictures. I came very close to getting a Jack Russell but got a Westie instead thinking they would be calmer. My Westie is not calm at all…he is all terrier! I love it though and especially when they sleep on your lap. Enjoy this puppy stage! Keep the pictures coming and have a great week.
What a beauty Chicklet is and the “barn” cat has the sweetest face. I can remember trying to catch a barn cat at my Gr parents farm. They didn’t want any part of it. Hazel is just precious. Have a wonderful weekend . Anita
Good luck with your sale. Your work is beautiful. If I lived closer, I would donate some cotton dish cloths that I like to crochet to your sale.
Wow! From little Chicklet to that handsome rooster – amazing! Hazel is such a sweet thing, you are obviously in love!
You have to enjoy Hazel sleeping on your lap when you can, this stage will be gone before you know it.
Oh, love seeing that handful of quilts. What a treasure for some lucky gals.
Chicklet is becoming a handsome rooster. Love your animals. Lori, I wouldn’t be too sure Hazel will grow out of lap sitting. My nephew has an 80+lb. pittbull who likes to sit in my lap! I’m 5’1″ and weigh around 116lbs.
I always enjoy your pictures and comments. We had chickens at one time when we first moved to our log house we built. We have thought of doing that again but our two dogs would just be barking at them all the time that go out back. We have a six year old bassett hound who we call MaddieMae. Our son found a puppy down the road about three years ago who had been dumped. Poor little girl was loaded with ticks but we cleaned her up . A visit to the vet said she was mostly Jack Russell. I did not want another dog but she is also a love of our life as is Maddiemae. We call her Marley. She doesn’t get in my lap but will sit next to me in the recliner. What would we do without our dogs?
When and where is your sale on Saturday? It sounds fun!
Connie – the Spring Market sale is in Garner at the USDA building on Hwy 69 south of the Garner Inn and it runs from 9-1 this Saturday.
Well bless your heart! I thought I was a busy person, but compared to you I’m a slug!!
Julie – and I feel very retired compared,to all those years when the shop was open and we were publishing patterns!
Hazel looks to petite to be 6#….and I think that bundle will always be ready to sleep in mom’s lap.
Even my full grown GSD wanted to sit in my lap when I drove my truck. They get a taste of cuddling when they are cute and little, they always remember!!
Ann – I hope so because I love to hold her!
Chicklet is drop-dead gorgeous!
So glad to see the pictures of the barn kitty and Chicklet with his parents. I wonder how the two males get along.
I love Hazel. My Riley (a cairn terrier) was a whopping 6 pounds when I brought him home at 10 weeks old. He is still a joy at 12 years of age and has thankfully slowed down a bit! Just like me!
