After the wild day we had yesterday, both Keeper and Hank were worn out today – what a change for me! We went on several wilderness trail rides, had a nap, and checked out the barn a number of times.
I spent most of the day at the longarm and will have a couple finishes to show you very soon. I can’t wait to piece something again – worked on binding tonight and you know how much I love that.

I have quite a few jellyrolls I should use – do you have a very favorite pattern?

i am laughing at you guys floating acoss the sky with the bid flu. you would have to stay out till we know you’re clear. can you tell that dh is watching a deportation show on tv? patti in florida
You asked about food patterns for Jelly Rolls. I love the one you do that I think you did for your mom…the name is an old baseball player. Ernie something? I love that quilt!
It’s been in the high 50’s to low 60’s around here lately. It’s supposed to stay that way for the next couple of weeks with some rain thrown in every once in a while. Now if the wind would settle down, it would be perfect. I’m slowly working on perging items from my sewing room. I’ve gone through most of the books and will donate them to our library for their book sale later this year. Not sure what’s next to go. I think I’ll do some more sewing and then tackle another area. I’ll send a picture of my tumbler quilt. It’s one of my ufo’s from at least 15 years ago! It’s made from all civil war era prints.
Mary, I really like the pencils wallhsnging/quilt, can you tell us who made the pattern.? I would love to make one! We did not as gusty of winds as I thought we’d get today, thank goodness! I ‘saved’ a pathos plant from being thrown away last year, sometimes I lose a leaf, and I had to re-root one of my stems too. I did not think they were so temperamental. Anyone have tips or suggestions on keeping the plant healthy?
The wind is truly blowing across our backyard, we can hear the trees creaking today. Its 40 and rather nice but snow is coming tonight and its turning cold for the weekend. Love the pencil quilt, would be such a cute idea for a teacher or wall hanging in a classroom. Looking forward to seeing what you get finished. Did some major errands on Wednesday, got the fridge stocked and some paint bought. Might get our walk-in pantry painted this weekend. Working on a mystery quilt with Kathleen Tracy minitures.
Glad the dogs had a tiring day. Seeing them together always makes me smile.
Love the pencil quilt! I made a pencil wall hanging about 6 years ago for my grandson’s teacher to hang in her classroom.
I love your quilt, Diane! May I ask the name of the pattern?
Joy, you had me “laughing out loud” picturing you sailing across the country to visit with Patti! It’s windy here too. Thermometer says above 40 but it feels colder than that! That pencil quilt is cute and Diane’s blue and white one is gorgeous! I had a lesson this week on spinning wool – I loved it! So far, it’s just on a drop spindle but I hope to learn how to use a spinning wheel eventually. Still taking drops for the eye infection, I can’t believe it’s taking this long to heal. No pain but I guess it’s still there, sigh… I guess it’s going to get colder again this next week. We have so much mud that I’m looking forward to it solidifying, haha! The chicken’s run is solid mud, yuck. I am not letting them out due to the threat of bird flu in our area. I spoke to the owner of our local Agway about protecting them from the flu and she’s of the mind that what happens, happens. She let’s her girls free range. They “live their best life”. I understand that, but at the same time I can’t just leave it to chance. Not yet anyway, I’d hate to lose them. Jan in MA
Jan Hebert in MA don’t you wonder about putting out a sail and fly along with the wind? Doesn’t sound so relaxing tho does it? Well, it is 7:17 pm and the wind has finally stopped roaring! It was a noisy day! Don’t you just love all the gals that comment on Mary’s blog. I so look forward to it every day!
Love seeing Hank and Keeper pics. They truly love each other.
It’s tough seeing how dry your ground looks Mary. Our snow is melting and mud is around in spots but I’m seeing bright green in other areas already here.
Love seeing all the pictures and nice quilt Diane made!
It’s so windy here! It just roars. I wonder if Jo in Wyoming had this a couple days ago?!
The temp is in the forties but of course the windchill takes that way down!
Patti in Florida I think if I would put a sail on I would be to you in a couple hours. Hahaha
Love all the pictures! The dogs are so funny. Be careful letting you chickens out.. they’ll blow away!
Have a good day!!
