Fall is in the air so I devoted my day to changing out the summer quilts for fall quilts. The next change I’ll make will be to Christmas and this year I’m going to try to do it on Thanksgiving Day. After that the time gets away from me and pretty soon I begin to think “why bother?” My intentions are golden!
This year I hung Country Threads quilts in the living room and porch. It was fun to get them out again and now I’m so thrilled we didn’t sell them!
Here is a series of pictures featuring Millie.
More fall quilts by Country Threads.
I had one mishap. I wanted to move the pincushion display case off the table and I should have waited for help. My knee went through the glass in the door, tearing my favorite pants and cutting my knee.
When I start moving the plants back inside, the room will get very crowded very quickly.
Here are the barn kitties nearly grown up.
This is Reed, the all black kitty, and Danielle.
And this is Darla, Dot’s twin sister.
Here’s another picture of Danielle.
I will continue tomorrow – more cleaning and more fall decorating.
It IS getting to be time to get out our Autumn decorations! Love your wall quilts! And love your cats! With Millie is best! I am starting to ciput down my peonies and day lilies too..coneflowers are still doing well! We are going to get a big tprain here tonight the way the radar looks! Love reading your updates!
The quilts are wonderful. Your home is always so warm and inviting.
The kitties are so cute and so big.
You’re a few steps ahead of me. With predictions of 108 or higher tomorrow, I couldn’t quite do it but did pull some artificial flowers and arrangements for some showcase windows for our stitchers and quilters clubs. Made a few maple leaf pattern blocks for one of the showcases and will deliver them tomorrow. It’s almost that time of year, isn’t it! Love all your wall hangings. I need to make a few new pieces but am concentrating on miniature blocks for our ” little” group next month.
Sorry about your pincushion cabinet mishap. hope you’re ok.
OMG, hope your cut was not deep. I am in love with your quilts. Were they from a book?I love the one with the turkeys and pumpkins on the bottom. The kitties are so cute.

Having the quilts displayed with the kitties is a great way to highlight your masterpieces. Bet you feel so blessed to have such lovely quilts to adorn your walls. I’m contemplating doing a lap quilt for the upcoming fall season. It has to be simple as I’m still a beginning and need help. The senior center has a class that is an open forum for ladies to bring their work and help those with problems. Sounds like a winning combination to me.
Keep up the good work and be careful in your zeal in moving large objects. Hope you are feeling ok after the mishap.
Be sure to take good care of your glass cut, it is so easy to get cuts infected. Love the pictures of the kitty in the cupboard. Also special to see the kittens. I admire all the seasonal quilts so much. Thank you for sharing them with us.
Thanks for sharing the wonderfull pictures of your fall quilts. I have most of the turkey one completed but never wanted to do the apples. (Maybe I’ll leave them out). Happy fall!
I think Reed fits right in with the Halloween decorating. Quilts and wall hangings are VERY nice. At least none of the pincushions “broke.” Carry on.
Miss seeing your puppy dogs, are they doing okay?
Just finished reading a really good book called “The Mountain Between Us”. It’s by Charles Martin.
Mary, I hope you are all right. Hope your cut is not bad. That Danielle is a sweet little cat. The quilts are so pretty and they add a lot to your house. Take care of yourself.
So sorry about your knee. Ouch! I hope it heals quickly.
You have beautiful quilts and they look lovely in your house. Beautiful!

I love changing out my seasonal wall quilts and table runners, as well as a quilt next to our front door!! Many of my seasonal quilts include blocks from some of the Country Threads designs.
I used to do it on Labor Day, however with some autumnal color already appearing in some of our trees, I may do so this weekend. September is my favorite month of the year!!
I LOVE those Country Threads quilts………..I really need to get my CT patterns out and make some of those!!!
Thank you Mary for the nudge to get started on my fall decorations.
Ouch–sorry about your cut; that must have hurt!! Also, sorry about your pants–don’t you just hate losing your favorites!! How about a cute patch over the hole? Squeak was watching the computer and was happy to see Millie:) I, too, love the quilts. Which book is the Turkey quilt from? I just finished Ann Hood’s THE BOOK THAT MATTERS MOST. I really liked it. The barn kitties are very cute. Nice and cool here in Central Ohio this week.
Love kitty and quilt pictures!! They seem to go hand in hand. Your colors always blend so well together. Changing decor for the seasons always makes me happy too. That’s what makes us homebodies. Hope your cut is healing well. That had to hurt.
thanks so much for showing those beautiful quilts…..Love them..
Thank you for posting pictures showing your Fall quilts. Love seeing your work and the CT patterns.
Enjoy the last days of Summer!
Love your kitty squeezed into the little cupboard shelf!!! They love spots like that!
Love all of these pictures. Fall is my favorite time of the year. I hope your knee is doing all right and maybe a patch will save those jeans.
Beautiful quilts! So sorry to hear about your display case and favorite pants. Hope the cut is not too bad. Is the quilt in the second and third photos with the stars on the right hand side in one or your books? Love that quilt! Thanks for sharing these photos.
My kitty Zena loves to get in those little spots just like Millie…. How is Momma Kitty doing?
I love to decorate for fall! I have more ambition then. So sorry about your knee! I almost sliced off the tip of my finger with rotary cutter this summer. Lesson learned!
I don’t what I’m more jealous of, your quilts or your kitties. Love the way everything looks‼️ It is funny how we think. Be careful while you move things. Legs heal, those favorite pants don’t.
You have inspired me to do my fall decorating soon. Your quilts are so nice. Love the kitties, too. I hope your knee feels better soon.
Loved seeing your cats and the small quilts. I went right to the place I keep your books and found the first 2 quilts in the first 2 books I looked at!!! Aren’t I lucky that I have most of your books and a great many of your patterns? And that I can even find them? We all sure enjoy hearing from you, your critters and of course, all of your quilts. Keep it up.
I love Country Threads quilts. I got out my Use it Up, Wear it out, Make it Do or Do Without book the other day and am planning another quilt from it. I made the chicken quilt years ago and got a blue ribbon on it at the county fair. I guess I have to start my Autumn decorating. Rats!! May as well just decorate for Christmas too, because once September gets here, Christmas comes on its heels.
Love the fall quilts and did so enjoy the pictures of Reed, Darla, and Danielle. Now that the kittens are several months old, is Mama Kitty still at the farm? Thanks.
Yes, Mama is still here with the kittens but no friendlier – ha!
Fall is my favorite color!! Sorry to hear about your knee mishap…praying you mend quickly.
❤️❤️❤️ your fall quilts! Sorry you had a mishap, but glad it wasn’t worse.
Ouchie! Hope your leg does not hurt! Thanks for the pictures of Millie! She looks so pretty in front of all the fall quilts.
I really enjoy seeing not only your quilts, but your unique style of decorating. I never thought of collecting pin cushions, but what a nice idea! Also I really like your little cabinet of alarm clocks. Many years ago (over 50), my grandfather made me a similar cabinet for my doll dishes. I still have it, and never knew what to do with it. Now I know!!! Thank you!
I hope your leg is healing okay.
Oh my what beautiful fall quilts. Is the little cat pillow in the first picture one of your patterns? I just love it!! Glad to see the kitties are doing well and hope your injury is better. Sorry about your fave pants being damaged!
