A Musical Afternoon

This is Blanche, my mom’s younger sister and her daughter Jill.  We had such a nice time catching up over lunch on the porch and then Jill and I played piano duets.   Becky came, too, and brought her guitar for a couple songs.  Jill and I played through several duet books, one song after the other.  We both took from the same piano teacher as kids so we both know how to count really well as she was a strict teacher.

And this is what I’m working on in the porch.  This rug has been partially done for 2 years and I’m going to finish it this weekend!  That’s my goal.  When I see these twined rugs, I just love them and they’re not hard to make so what’s my hold up?  Our rug book has been a bestseller for many years and it’s such a great “use it up” project.  This rug is made from colorful t-shirts cut into strips and it will last for many years.

Have a nice weekend, everybody!  I’m hoping to go to Oronoco. MN for Goldrush Days.

Have a great weekend Mary! I’d love some cotton in same print as Jill’s top; lovely colors.

Pretty ladies..I can see the family resemblance. You should have that wonderful rug done in nothing flat! I really like the colors in it…

What a fun day! And what a great porch project – I need to get my rug frame out with a partial rug on it… and take it to the deck to get it finished! I think I might be in the same spot as you.

I think I need to purchase a book and do a loom and learn to make rugs…what is the name of your book.

Have a safe drive! The rug is very pretty – hope to see a picture of it finished with a dog or cat resting on it!

Your rug is inspiring. I remember seeing you at quilt shows demonstrating rugs. Bill built me a frame many years ago and I have your book. I need to find the frame. Have a fun day!
