A Rainy Saturday

We met this gorgeous white cat last week in Clear Lake at Thursday on Main.  The band was very loud but since Polar is deaf, he wasn’t bothered at all. This is not the order I typed this post but I am experimenting once again.  Why can’t I get these photos in order????

It’s Becky’s Birthday today – Connie, Becky and I went to Thursdays on Main to celebrate with her. Here’s somebody else we met on the street – Henry, a 3 month old Westie pup – I loved him!

Since I’ve been ordering most of my pet and household supplies from Amazon I have not been to Target – for over 2 months!  No impulse purchases! My time has been spent gardening, dog sitting, mowing, quilting and taking care of plants – no time for shopping.

I’m going to give up today – pick through this disjointed post as best you can.

I love your posts, in or out of order, and with or without photos! I’m back on the farm with you in my happy place. Your quilt camps are some of my best memories!
    And I’m hooked on closing ads…weird, I know. 😃

Happy Rainy Saturday to YOU, Mary–although it has cleared off here in Humboldt, Iowa and looks to be a very nice day ahead. I enjoy all of your photos, especially the animals and the gardening photos. I hope you have a relaxing and stress-free day doing what you love to do. I am doing what I love to do: entertain family and feed them. My niece and her husband from Decorah will be here for lunch. It will be a fun day!

I’m hooked on closing ads also. Found 5 on the computer and 15 on my Kindle Lots more there all the time. Go glad to see you again, pictures or not just to be part of the farm family makes me happy also.

Just being able to see the blog is great.
The “flowerbed” is great..love it! A junk shop ( cannot in good conscious call it an antique shop) in Olney has a 1/2 ( smaller than twin) bed in fenced outdoor area…I am going to gleam your idea if the bed is there next time I go to Olney.
I too order pet food, household items, & as much as possible from Amazon.
Told a friend about your corn recipe & she told me wait until Thursday to cook as son in Iowa at his sister-in-laws & she spoke to him & he will bring several bushels back so can have true Iowa sweet corn. I am looking forward to it.
Hope rain isn’t causing harvest problems. Heat to be over 100 again to day & 7 day forecast high 90’s or 100.

Everything came through! No problem what order of pictures. Happy Birthday to birthday girl! I haven’t been to Target at 3 months! Try not to go there for same reason as you! Nice to see everything!

I’ve always heard that white cats with blue eyes are usually deaf-wonder why? Wish it would rain here-everything is dried up! 5 ads to close and 4 not. Fabric.com must really want me to order something!

It’s so disgusting to me that there are people out there that take delight in wreaking havoc in other people’s lives. Instead of hacking websites use the brain power for something positive something good. I’m sorry that you have to put up with this mess. I couldn’t blame you if you gave up. But gosh would I miss you!

  9. Charlotte Barnard

I agree I’m thrilled you’re wonderful blog is back and I’ll enjoy it in any order it comes

  10. Ellie

Happy birthday to Becky! Beautiful white cat! Don’t stress about the order of pictures , we will figure it out!

  11. Caryn Goulden

Just glad your blog is back on. We can figure out the order. Happy Birthday to Becky! Closed 7 ads.

  12. Carol at Pin Oak Quilting

    4 ads today…
    Love Polar’s blue eyes!
You post, we’ll figure out the order, it’s just good to have you back!

Just finished reading “The Things We Cannot Say” by Kelly Rimmer could not put it down. Beautifully vwritten. Wonderful ending. Add to your reading list.

Five ads to close today. Will close some again after I comment. We really don’t care if the pictures are out of order……..we can figure it out. As others have said, we are just happy, happy, happy to have you back again! No rain in Oskaloosa, but we sure could use some. Very dry here. I have been watering my cucumbers. But I am getting a lot of tomatoes. Have canned 16 pints so far. That is probably enough for just the two of us.

We sure need rain here in Colorado. We had a HUGE clap of thunder quite out of the blue yesterday (Akira was about to crawl out of her skin!!) but the rain that followed barely lasted 5 minutes. More of the same sprinkling today. The skies are black to the west so perhaps the mountains are getting some moisture.

I had 4 ads to close and 2 with no x’s. Like the others, I’m a bit addicted to closing them. It’s nice to know there’s that way to pay it forward to the blog we love!

Polar is gorgeous!! Such pretty eyes! Happy Birthday to Becky! Hope you enjoyed your day together!

  16. Delores

The ads that appear on my computer do not have “X”s. If I double click on the ad it will come up. Does anyone know if that action reflects on Mary’s account as well?

    Mary, many thanks again!

  17. Kathy in western NY

So happy to see something , ANYTHING , from you Mary so don’t worry about the order or how you write it. We just like hearing from you! Now what you did for Becky’s birthday ….is that some town celebration on Thursday’s with the restaurants and bars in your town with music too? I am glad you got out and could forget about computer hackers who are creepy and desperate to try to mess with a quilter!!!!

Kathy in Western NY – yes, Clear Lake becomes a summer resort/vacation area in the summer and yes, there was food, wine, shopping and music and as luck would have it, the band playing was 4th & Maben from Garner. Guess who the lead singer is? Courtney, Simba’s new mom! (Remember the orange kitten?)

  18. Linda from Oconomowoc

Thank you for not giving up. This blog is something I look forward to, along with Jo and Bonnie Hunters blogs. I love to learn from you 3 gals.. That cat is beautiful. This past week has been beautiful. Blue skies, low humidity and just enough rain for the garden., air conditioner off!! Just lots of mosquitos. I can hardly work in the garden.
I guess you can’t have it all. 😁

  19. Donna Sproston

I’m your list of activities, you left out dealing with the blog issues! We can hope those are over and any order of photos and details works for me. I have been closing loads of ads. They come back while I am commenting so I can close them again. Hope the rain makes it to Illinois. We have not had any in weeks now after weeks of spring rain.

  20. Jeanie Stuff, sw IL

It was great hearing from you, Mary. Thanks. We can match up the pictures and captions. Becky’s birthday celebration sounded like fun for you three.

  21. Sue in Oregon

I love your post. It’s great, especially to have you back. You gals looked so pretty on Beckys Birthday. Hope you had a good lunch.
    Love that big Hosta.

I can figure it out, it fine and free. It’s kind of the way I talk. You have to know how to follow my stories. Ha

  23. Diane, Squeak’s Mom

Aww. Polar reminds me of my Spikey. I love white kitties.😺. Thanks for checking in with us. Only 4 ads with x’s On iPad, but i’ll check on computer and close more.

  24. Patricia

Unfortunately only 2 pictures came up for me on this post, the dog and the cat. However I did discover that the ability to close ads changes as I open the email a number of times. So I will do that from now on. Happy Birthday to Connie. Your day sounded fun.

I enjoy reading about the things you do! I received a sideways picture of a white little dog, and a right side up pic of a white cat with blue eyes, then a blank photo square. I think I received all your words. I, too, stay out of stores so that I don’t buy stuff…
