Surgery is over and it all went fine. This time instead of throwing up all night, I itched. Something that they gave maybe made me so itchy, the night was very long
Rick dropped me off and went back home to do chores. I assured him he didn’t have to come back until I was dismissed this afternoon. So that’s where I’m at right now–I’ve seen the doctor, physical therapy, ate breakfast and will have a group discussion next.
Now I’m going to rest until group therapy – I’m not looking forward to PT or sitting in chair. All is well otherwise.
So glad your surgery is over. I’m sending prayers for a speedy recovery.
Yay! great news, Mary. Now rest up and get ready for spring!

After years of agonizing pain my dear friend was looking forward to her surgery on Jan. 6. However she developed a bladder infection two days before the date and everything was cancelled. I know one day, hopefully soon, she will be smiling like you.
Prayers for you both.

You must be allergic to something to be itchy? My, group discussion is new to me post-surgery, but it has been over 15 years since I had my knees replaced. Best decision ever!! Take care. Heal.
😄👏👏👏👋👋👋🙏🙏👍

So happy to see your smiling face!!! I hope they tell you what caused the itching reaction. Everyone will be so happy you are coming home soon.
Looking forward to your armchair reports cause you always have something interesting going on for us to read about. Glad it’s over and you have spring to look forward to. This time of year is a good time to store up energy by resting so you have lots of strength and stamina to carry you thru spring and summer.
Glad you are one step closer to recovery!
dilaudid is something I was given IV after my shoulder replacement. Horrible itching and dizziness. Miserable. If you were given this for pain relief that may be the culprit. I joked with my husband that it was great for pain—made me so itchy I couldn’t think about pain. Ha!
Now I say I’m allergic to it, so I never need to take it again!
Home is best now. Just rest and get better, Mary.
Roxanne – thanks for the encouragement .
Happy News!
Wishing you a speedy recovery 🙂
Hugs……
Thinking of you and a quick recovery ;o)
Great to hear, Mary. Pretty soon you’ll be a “Spring Chicken”:)

Wow, they sure don’t keep you as long as they used to. Do what the doctor says and I’m sending prayers for a speedy recovery.
Martha Engstler
Martha – thanks for such enthusiastic words. I’ll have to read them again and again!
Looking good and soon you’ll be home and feeling better !
Great news! I thought about you a lot yesterday and hoped you weren’t throwing up—for me that is the worst. Itching isn’t pleasant either. Now both knees are done, and you’ll soon be ready to get back to the active life you live.
Hope you are on your way home now. I have word from Hazel…she is ready to be the nurse!
Glad it went well. Prayers for healing.
Mary, God bless you!!
Wishing you a comfortable recovery. xoxo
Take good care of yourself!
Good to hear from you glad it is over. Paula in KY
Glad your surgery is over, you look good. Take the meds they give you and feel better every day. God’s speed🙏
Glad to hear your surgery went well and that you will soon be home. Rest and don’t over due it when you start to feel better.
Mary, we’re all so relieved the surgery was successful and, now that the itching is either under control or gone, you can go forward to recovery. Trying to get rest in the hospital is an oxymoron, you’re so much better off at home in your own bed or chair. Rest, heal, and be waited on for a change.
Sending positive thoughts that you recover quickly. Be safe if you travel home tomorrow….and pamper yourself–rest!
Hi Mary, Thoughts and Prayers with your knee recovery. Take Care so you can enjoy all your plans for 2020 and the future. Thank you for all you bring to your readers. Storms tonight here in our area.

Glad it went well!!
WATCH the ICE when you get home.
Now it is only 14 below here.
Mary, I’m glad your surgery is done and you’re home. Rest, ice, alternate your pain pills as I explained to you last time. Enjoy the games on the weekend with your leg elevated and a cat on your lap. Take care!
Thx for sending a message, as we were thinking abt you. I hope the weather does not cause problems. Take care. 😘
Did you use sage cloths the night before as a disinfectant? I did before one of my knee surgeries and found I was allergic to them. Was awake all night scratching, far worse than the pain. Will NEVER use them again.
Dorothy Sheldrake – what’s a sage towel?
Keeping you in my prayers.. and Connie too!!
I was really glad to read that it went well and now you need to get onto recovery, spring is right around the corner and the outside is calling. I so enjoy when you give us tours of your yard coming alive and all those critters that call it home. Prayer for healing and less itching!
Thankful your surgery went well except for the itching!! Will continue to pray for healing and strength for your rehab.
Glad you’re ok, prayers for speedy recovery
Quilty hugs
Linda
So glad to see you’re smiling and doing well. Now let the recovery and healing begin! You did it once and you’ll do it again!! Take Care Mary!
Great news now you are on your way to a great new year 🙏😊😊
Glad you are on the mend!
If you had morphine for pain that is probably your reason for itching. It could also be an allergic reaction to something they gave you. I can’t take statins. I was miserable. If the itching continues tell the Dr. It is important to your health.
Sue Sinkhorn – I did have morphine in an IV during surgery they said. I will remember to tell my dr. at my 6 week appointment. Thanks!
