Another Rainy Day, 5-20-21

Oh, the farmers are so happy with this rain! It’s too wet to mow however and the grass is tall! You know what I’ll be doing when it quits raining.

Here some new patterns in the online store – I missed these earlier so Wedding Day will be a repeat.

You are welcome! I enjoyed coming to Country Threads during the time it was open. Now I am
enjoying your blog. I look forward to it every day.
We only had a sprinkle in SE South Dakota, so you are very fortunate to get the rain. We have 3 more days predicted for rain. Chances look good!

Wondering about the pattern for the large door sized Uncle
Sam. This is no longer available correct?

Norma Gebhardt – I will double check but I believe both sizes are included and can be purchased online.

Norma – I can’t believe it but this pattern has disappeared from the online store – I’ll have Kayla get it back on there and I’ll post it when she finishes.

Your quilt patterns are beautiful! We really need rain here in southeastern Wisconsin. We’ ve had showers, but could use a good soaking rain. It’ s going to get hot this weekend. Take care.

I’m afraid not all farmers are happy for the rain! We still have beans to plant & it’s making cattle work mighty tough. I’ll have to bale my yard once I can mow & if I don’t get my tomatoes planted soon…not sure what’s going to happen with them!! I just wish it would spread the days out for rain & not some everyday. And I fear it will stop & we won’t get any when we need it later on in the summer. I have gotten some inside projects done because of all the rain but I need to do outside now! It is IA however so we just deal with what we have!

Jane from St Mary’s – you have had much more rain than we have and I’d be getting pretty anxious, too, if the beans weren’t planted! We’ve probably had about an inch spread out over 4 days so I should have phrased my sentence better – and I get it! Come July we’ll be drying up, the yards will be brown and there will be no rain.

Love the patterns and the quilt show! We are happy for the rain Jerry’s crops are coming up in the back yard so he is happy.

I always look so forward to your quilt shows and what’s happening in your little spot in our country. Thank you for sharing it with all of us.
We have been away for a few days in our motor home for the first time in over a year so felt good giving the dogs and cat a ride to enjoy the nice weather we are having. We stayed at a campground along Lake Ontario so the views of the calm blue waters were savored while I sipped my morning coffee and read.
Now back to reality of 90 degree weather today and planting tomatoes, marigolds and some herbs. It’s been really warm and no rain so I left my plants in wheelbarrows filled with water to keep them till I returned. It worked!

We had what we once called a “gully washer” 4 1/4 inches in three hours on Sunday. Our soil is black gumbo ( formerly grew cotton) and it only absorbs so much water and then it just has to run off.

We got an inch more during this week, but we’ ll be having a dry spell later also so we are grateful for what we got, I planted zinnias this year in my flower beds. Looking forward to enjoying those this summer.
