Birthday Party at Concord Care

We had a change of plans today.  Becky and Jenny couldn’t come and actually Bo went home early so I took Bentley along with me to the care center.  I put the leash loop under one of the piano bench legs and made sure I didn’t accidentally stand up.  He sat by the piano for over an hour while I played and the residents and their guests sang along or just listened.  I remember taking Leo with me one time, too.  I know Sam is missing her Leo.  Me, too.

Nice you could play music for the Concord Care folks with Bentley at the center of attention!

Maybe Bentley thought all of the singing was for him ๐Ÿ˜Š Golden’s are such loving dogs. Such a nice photo of both of you. Are you sitting on one of your quilt projects? Looks like something that’s quilted.

I’m in shock!! Bentley must have been worn out from playing all morning to have sat still for an hour. Good job Mary! Great job Bentley. I’m proud of you. Bentley will turn 5 yeats old tomorrow. What a fun day he had!!

I worked in a senior community for 29 years. Those residents loved having people come in with their dogs and a bonus they they also played an instrument.
Mary, you are truly an angel on earth.
    God bless you

I bet the residents enjoyed watching Bentley as well as listening to your music!!!

Really nice photo, Mary. It’s wonderful to give back to your community and brighten someone’s day.

Love your out-going, loving spirit you share with so many. You seem to never be out of ideas of “how to make it work!”

The presence of a large dog is very calming for Care residents. Bubba comes here weekly, he has gotten comfortable enough with me that he hops up on my bed and settles right down!

Way to go Mary!! I’m sure all the residents love to have you come to entertain them. And bringing the pets along, too!! You are so special!!

I loved reading about your visit to the care center with Bentley. I know how the residents enjoy these visits. It is a special break in an otherwise routine day. A sing a long is a wonderful idea. Makes me wish I had kept up with my piano playing. My daughter has a mini horse that we have taken and Chester is always a hit. Do you ever take one of the chickens? We are always surprised how much the residents enjoy trying to get that rooster to crow. If and when he does everyone cheers!!

Sneed – what a great idea – taking a rooster to the care center! I’m going to try to try to take Chicklet!

Great picture. You are one beautiful lady ….. In everything you say and do. I’m lucky to have met you a few years ago and now come to realize what true beauty is. Thanks for being you.

Hi Mary…that is a lovely picture…it is what I call a “keeper”. Music is important to all and especially senior living folks. A true gift of your time to bring joy to others. The dog is smiling. So a fun outing.

Just got home from my 60th class reunion and was delighted to have the kitty wall hanging waiting for me with the punch needle kits. It will go up on the wall tomorrow. Thanks. Great idea with Chicklet. In our town there used to be a man that had a rooster he pulled around in a little wagon. Great Fun to see.

Martha – I also received Your box to me – what a sweet sentiment and of course it’s true! Thank you so much for thinking of me – fur babies do indeed make a home!

Outstanding community involvement! And I bet the residents really enjoy the pets you bring. My cat would love being social but would be running all over!

I have a very sweet people loving dog named Yanni. I have always wanted to take him to the hospital to to a nursing home for people to pet. It raises our dopamine levels and the dogs. But I work and am gone from home 10 to 12 hours every day of the week. This is so lovely that you share with others your very sweet puppy and your wonderful talent at the piano!
