First it was the weekend, then it was the Mortie post and last night it was Bullseye so tonight I’m posting everything I think I’ve missed. I apologize if I repeat. Remember, I’m old.

We printed this barn panel many years ago – before we corrected the direction of the flag as you can see. Then we did a book with many versions of the panel used in a quilt – the staff each made a project, too. I did find one panel in my drawer – it’s such a shame we didn’t know about the flag at the time because I still love it.

And then there’s this building in Des Moines –

Our weather is so dreary and wet – still. I played for a funeral this morning and had hoped to mow this afternoon but no way. Tomorrow I take my van in at 9 am for an oil change and then my cleaning lady is coming and I clean then, too. And then tomorrow night is Game 3 – I so want the Fever to win but Las Vegas is a formidable team. Did any Fever fans see the incident with A’Ja Wilson and the press conference that followed? So unfair – in my opinion.
Keep your fingers crossed for Caitlin and the Fever!

Who is on the red tractor. Beautiful cat.
The cat on the red tractor is my cat Max. He showed up at our house after Thanksgiving last year. He was 3 to 4 months old. He has been a great addition to our farm.
We did a contest in our shop, using that panel. One of our customers made small quilts and hung them on a clothesline. We had the contest before you and Connie came to
Our shop. Wish I still had mine!
South Dakota quilter – cute quilt. But, then I’m partial to elephants. 🙂 VR – lovely color wave. Marie C., you, too on yours. Yes, I’d get the “Our Very Best to You” pattern, too. $5 and SASE will work for it?
Greta is pretty on the blue quilt.
The Fourth Quarter Crunch recipe looks very similar to a TV snacks crunch my Mom got from a lovely lady in Iowa who watched out for her when my Dad was stationed elsewhere during WWII. It’s been a family staple for years. I’m sure this one is tasty, too.
Blessings to you all!
Jan – yes, $5 -etc. I’ll try to remember to post these / I have no memory!
Hi Mary,
Thank you for sharing Toby in the box with his red ribbon on. He was a Cool Cat. Lived to 17 healthy years.
We just listened to our San Diego Padres win their wildcard playoffs. I say listened because we, the fans could not watch the game from home unless we purchased a Peacock subscription. To me that was so unfair and just wrong. The Padres have sold out Petco Park for nearly every game. Is it all about the MONEY?!
On the other side of that, I finished up the top of a really fun table runner for my daughter in law, Amy!
Susy – this happens to us when Mpls teams play. We are 150 miles from Mpls but they call us local.
Toby was a great cat – 17 years!
The good news is, Padres play game 1 of the National League Division Series today against the Milwaukee Brewers and we are watching!
Was Hazel rolling on a live snake or a dead snake?! She cleaned up nicely. I love Hazel.
Suzy – it was a live snake – don’t know if the roll killed it. I’ll be watching, too – the WNBA semifinals are on but after the Aja Wilson debacle, I won’t watch. I will miss seeing the Fever girls till next season.
Ince again the weather people were wrong. Supposed to get 5″ of rain in Des Moines and flooding everywhere. Radar shows rain moving out this morning. Thank goodness!
Mt beloved Cubbies have been eliminated so my baseball season is over. High hope for a World series trip, but not to be.
Making tiny zipper bags today for the church sales. Tedious is all I can say.
Diana – we’re all suffering end of season blues – the Fever is done, too
Carol, can you imagine what a mess we would have if we could order our rain? Mary wants to mow, you want rain, the next door neighbor wants it dry for some event……….
We are starting to dry out here in NW Iowa. We will see some sun!
Is there a pattern for Our Very Best to YOu? It’s a wonderful quilt!!!! Marie C is a lovely quilter. Does Greta actually ride with you? Our cats scurry away from any movement! We are awaiting rain, much needed. I hope you dry out soon. If we could only order our weather!!!!!!
Carol – yes, you can order Our Very Best To You. Yes, Greta rides with me – she meets us in the hay ground and rides back with me! I think it’s very special! She doesn’t spend much time in the house – get this – Mortie chases her!!!? Greta is easily twice the size so why doesn’t she just slap Mortie once and settle it?
Hi Mary, the car above the armchair with the flag panel on(cat!) Looks like ziggy who lives a few doors from me,he is very pretty and friendly. Stella is 9 today and having a day out with the family in Foxton, paddling at the beach and on the flying fox. Still doing major cleaning,,lots being donated, but l have to live another 50 years to use all my fabric! Take care everyone, best wishes from Sandy
Sandy – what’s a flying fox? Stella and Hazel are almost the same age. Hazel won’t be 9 till January. Get to sewing, Girl! No more picking up blocks on the free table! Haha!!!
A flying fox is a bat—it is the featured animal on our animal calendar for October, which I turned to just after reading your post/question! Haha.
Although Sandy must be talking about a different flying fox.
The internet tells me that the Flying Fox is a zipline at the Foxton Beach resort in New Zealand.
Greta is such a great cat! It was a good day when you adopted her to keep Gracie company. Today’s quilts were interesting – I like Jan’s quilt with the red and white striped fabric.
