Connie Has Been Busy!

If you recall Connie spent the last 10 days in Chicago with Grace and Rex while Andy and AdreAnne went on vacation.  Here’s some of the projects she worked on.

Kim Diehl’s Pineapple Quilt.  Connie is a Kim Diehl fan!

Leftovers from the Pineapple Quilt.

Here are her Gardenvale  Stars blocks by Jen Kingwell made with Jen’s fabric.

This is Beemer, Connie’s little sewing buddy.

Grace and Rex loved having Grandma Connie stay at their house.  She’s teaching them how to sew.

And here’s today at home.  This is what she’s working on today, Wildflowers.

Hope is helping.  Most of you can identify with this picture – ha!

And here’s a current picture of Ben – he looks good!

And Claire, the big sister who loves to collect “stuff”.

It’s a gorgeous day in North Iowa – we might even get fooled into thinking spring has arrived.

Tucker is still here and Dakota arrived for a week’s stay at Lucky Dog Farm.  I love this little dog – she’s showing her age of 12-1/2 years.

That’s all folks!

What a fun time with Grandma!! All four( 2 girls, 2 boys) of ours have made at least one quilt and pillowcases. Is there a cat or dog anywhere who doesn’t “test” a quilt? I always say “Inspected by Squeak” ( or Spike, Pyramus, Thisbee, Socrates, Arsenic, Atlas etc) on mine:) Enjoy the warm weather, Mary.

Is your boarding facility called Lucky Dog Farm because if it isn’t it certainly should be. They probably hate going home after a week with your place. They always seem so relaxed and that is a great sign. Have a great weekend and tell Connie her quilts are great and Ben does look great as well.

Beemer is a doll! Hope is holding down the fort. The kids are adorable! It’s beautiful here in Ohio today. I’ve been out cleaning up the yard. Keep sending me good weather, Mary!

I just love looking at all the pretties! You all are so talented! Where could I find the pattern for wildflowers? Thanks!

Hi- I see several of you have asked where to find the Wildflower pattern.
The book is called Scrapbasket – Strips and squares. By Kim Brackett . I loved
making the Wildflower blocks, but putting the rows together has been a bit tedious.
There are several other quilts in this book that I would make in a heartbeat…making
      this book a good value🤓.

Love Connie’s quilts. the 2 of you never stop and I sure love the fact you are so sharing, quilts and your animals. Is this Wild flower quilt one of your patterns?

Kids, quilts, and dogs. Beautiful pictures. I, too, use my dogs as “doggy-weights”. They love to help me that way and hang out when I sew. Lots of sunshine today in eastern Washington. A tease for spring, I think.

I too just love seeing all the quilts. They give me hope to get some of mine done. We had cats and always helping to sew!! Just love all the news, kids, quilts and animals of all kinds! Thanks.

I just love all the quilts, and animals and kids. I have an issue. I have your book “At the Lake”. I love it. However I struggle with set in seems. I started out with Irene’s star. Something small. I would eventually like to make some of the large quilts with the set in seems. I have ripped it out 3 times and still cannot get it right. I am from Moline Il and there is no one around here to give me hands on. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

Diana – have you looked for a tutorial online? It won’t be very effective if I try to talk you through it – you need to see it! Have you tried basting first?

      1. Diana Stanfill

No I haven’t tried basting. But that is an excellent idea. Plus I will look online. I appreciate you responding back. It took me a while to find it.
Thanks so much. There are so many ideas I want to try in the “Lake” book.
Take Care, love the animals and all the stories. Oh and the quilts tooo.
