Country Living At Its Best

Another great day in the country – I don’t think I could live in town but my friend, Jane, is leaving her wonderful 10 acres in Michigan for parts unknown. Jane is a free spirit, in my opinion, and is ready for a new adventure with her husband, 2 dogs and 2 cats. They’re going to live in their Colorado condo until they decide where they want to land next. If I had to move I’d have a panic attack! Jane has two delightful Jacks and she is the Facebook friend who found Hazel for me – so she’s Aunt Jane to Hazel.

So why do I tell you this, you ask? Her acreage is for sale and even though I have not seen it in person, the pictures are simply lovely. I would love to have a barn like hers! And just because sometimes things just happen, I’m including the link in case any reader might be interested. Maybe the reader knows somebody that knows somebody else….you get the idea.

Here is the link – take a look and see if you don’t agree that it would be a nice place to live.

I hope this link works – if not I’ll try again tomorrow – when I’ve got time to ask someone how to do it.

And Hazel says “look at me up here on this cupboard with all the dishes”!

Ah, sweet Hazel! She looks so nice with the dishes!! If we were younger what a fabulous place that would be to raise llamas!!

Kathy Hanson – oh you are so right! A great place for just about anything!

Lovely piece of land, lovely price. Cannot imagine what the price would be here in the Seattle, WA area,
Also cannot imagine living back in snow country again 🙂

I remember many occasional snowy winter times with my sled and friends while growing up in your area. Plenty of rainy days as well. Now the traffic is horrible. There is something tranquil about country living even tho I miss the beaches and sunsets in WA!

Gayle – are you in Michigan or Iowa? Because that’s how I feel about Iowa!

Love the Hazel pic! She is cute enough to be in the movies!

Would love to live on the acreage – outbuildings are very nice.

Oh, Jane….I listened to her in the radio for years before she and PC moved to Michigan. I hope their property sells soon so they can live full time back in my beautiful state of Colorado.

Dianne – I have so many readers named Dianne, I’m never sure who I talking to – would have loved listening to Jane on the radio! Are you a regular blog reader? A quilter?

        Mary

I apologize for not including my last name. I do read your blog all the time and totally enjoy it. Fortune for me back in the day my route to work took about an hour, so I got my daily dose of Don and Jane.

Thanks for doing the work for a great blog.

    Beautiful home!

Hazel is so cute! Love the look on her face…so innocent!!!

Love the pictures of the farm for sale. It looks like it’s ready to move in to and so well cared for. I, also, am to old and to far away to consider such a move but years ago might have thought about it. Actually I really love Iowa especially your area and Story County. Sorry to say it’s too late in life for anything except a visit.

That is a beautiful place. We used to go to Lake Leelanau (sp) to visit friends. Gorgeous. I would love to live there, but the kids and grandkids are here in Central Ohio.

Squeak has been giving Hazel lessons via email as to how to get up on the place with the dishes!! She LOVES our hutch and does it so I’ll get up and do whatever she wants–LOL. Gotta love those babies. Hazel is adorable:)

    1. CountryThreads Post author

Diane – you tell Squeak that Hazel doesn’t need any help in the trouble dept! Haha!

      1. Diane

Funny😺🐶. I will. I think they are two peas in a pod–look so innocent, but can get in sooo much trouble!!

I’m with you, Mary. If I had to move, just the thought of packing up all of our junk would give me panic attacks. The area Jane lives in is beautiful, quite a tourist spot. As far as I’m concerned, any where on the west side of Michigan is perfect. We have cold, snowy winters, but no volcanoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, and only a few tornadoes. When we go on vacation to other states, I see beautiful places, but I’m always glad to get home again.
How does Hazel manage to get to those high places in your house, is she part monkey?

  19. Karen Gaither

I wonder if Hazel is part cat. That is too funny that she is standing next to the China plates and so proud for getting up there.

    1. CountryThreads Post author

Karen – since she lives with so many cats, she probably thinks she IS one – ha! Yes, she was very proud of herself! How are your dogs?

  20. Mor Baly

Enjoyed seeing the farm in Leland very much Mary. It’s a gorgeous area and beautiful property. I forwarded the link to Jay. It is a dream to get out of the city. Who knows! Best wishes to your friend. Glad you survived all the crazy weather. Let’s hope it will become more like a normal summer now.

While it’s a bit sad to sell what you are used to, how wonderful that they have the choice to do so and that they have a place in Colorado, as they decide on their next adventure.

    I wish I had those choices…
