I spend time on the couch with my trusty Ice pack and the redness is going away replaced by lovely yellow. I feel really good and spent last evening at the sewing machine. Today I’ve watched 3 college basketball games and am really getting bored. I wanted Rick to drive me to a thrift store today and he refused because he said everybody would think he was beating me! Ha! Guess I have to lay low a bit longer.
BC and Deano have become good friends – they play/fight in the living room for our entertainment.
UFO for February is #1 – my UFO is stair treads I didn’t finish last year!
Well, the smile definitely helps! Glad you are feeling better. I am glad you are sharing this. I need to have it done also, but had to wait until the eye doctor says it is necessary so the insurance will cover it. Okay, so I know about the eye lids, but is the brow lift part of the eye lids surgery, or is it a separate request, for lack of a better question???
Keep up the good work and take advantage of Rick’s help!

This is what I was told—without the brow lift, gravity will continue to pull the brows down and the lids follow. Most people who do just the lids will likely have to repeat the surgery down the road.
All the warnings from the doctor now seem to be scare tactics. If my hair were done, I’d go out to church tomorrow.
Oh my Gosh!!! You are looking like a million bucks!
Mary! It is so good to see you smiling……for real! You look really happy, like you are beginning to believe that you will be beautiful once again, LOL!
It’s also good to see the little black cat getting a friend and not being so scared. How is he with the dogs by now?
Great weekend to be laid up! Lotsa football! Did you find a ‘talking book’ to read?
Cheers!
Really enjoying the pictures. Very informative and I can imagine why anyone would be offended…..thanks for sharing this…….and continued wishes for your complete and speedy recovery!
Hi Mary, maybe you can make a quilt like Mary Lou Weidemann(sp??) of your face in purples and yellow!! Yes, good idea to keep Rick out of trouble! You’re looking good!
Amazing what 24 hours and an ice pack can do! I’m amazed!
You’re looking great! Thanks for doing this. You’re a very brave
woman.
What a beautiful face (even with the brusing). So glad you are feeling better. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
You are looking awesome and rested…maybe this
forced couch time is a bonus!!
Wear big sunglasses when you go out — no one will know what those eyes look like as they heal! Play like you are a celebrity — well, yes, you ARE!
Thànks for sharing your life with us. I look forward to receiving your e-mails each day.

You’re suppose to take it easy for at least 14 days and you can’t even last 4 days. Going out to thrift shops–bad idea to be around the possible dust, etc. Now that you looking better so soon, let the joking begin. You should commemorate your recent post surgery helmet photos with a new Halloween pattern called Mummy Mary. I looked at your halloween pattern and didn’t see one with a mummy. Great to see some new kitty pictures.
Oh, Rose– you are too funny! A mummy pattern- ha!
Mary you’re doing great…thanks for sharing this “life event” with us…nobody does it like you do! Don’t rush it…take good care.
Hi Mary,
I think you are looking great and recovering really fast! Thank you for posting this: I am sure many of us will be facing this somewhere down the line! It is always better to be well informed. Take care of yourself and I hope you are quilting again soon.
Cheers Fiona.
I feel your pain Mary! When I was in high school I was kicked by a horse in the face. One eye was completely swollen shut the other partially and both my eyes were lovely shades of purple to yellow. You can imagine the looks I got walking down the school hallways!
