December’s Dirty Dozen

Are you ready? Our number for December is 12 — twelve.

Are YOU keeping up with our Dirty Dozen game? For those who don’t know how this works – get all your unfinished projects together and number them 1-12. On the first day of each month I’ll draw a number and you will work on that project during the month to finish it. You will feel sooooo good as you finish up these projects that have been languishing in your sewing room.

PS – I got Bonnie’s first mystery clue finished last night as I watched unending football games – I love college football however so I was glued to the tv all day.

It’s snowing lightly here this morning with stiff winds that thankfully moved to the northwest which means the pet door can be open. Freedom!

Good for you to have your Bonnie Hunter first step completed. I am skipping church this morning due to the sleet hitting my windows so I will stay safe inside. Sewing day with some stuffed peppers simmering later in the crock pot. Now time to get off the couch and see what my number 12 is.

As a newbie to your blog, I appreciate your explanation of the dirty dozen. I kind of thought that was what is was about. I love seeing the variety of projects. Thanks for a fun and interesting blog to follow.

Thanks Mary for doing the dirty dozen #12 is my very first quilt, it just needs to be quilted. Even though I’m way behind it has made me stick to getting these things finished. It is sleeting here this morning & 29 degrees, gearing up for a storm. Love your blog.

Can’t wait to get home to see what my #12 is!
I visited Pine Needles Quilt Shop in Rochester yesterday. Their Small Business Saturday deal was buy one yard at regular price, get the second yard from the same bolt for $1. I came away with 4 yards of fabric and this morning I’m kicking myself for not buying more of the collection, so I will be watching to see what their Cyber Monday deal will be!! I bought a pattern for some really cute zip bags that I’m anxious to get working on!
We are up and ready for late church this morning. It’s not snowing right now but looks like there’s a glaze on the sidewalk, so we will be watching our steps! Have a great day everyone!!

I have been keeping up with The Dirty Dozen but have not shared any pictures. I have started on Bonnies mystery but have not finished the first clue.

Nikki M – isn’t that the luck of the draw – you can finish your gifts AND keep up with the game! I hate to say this, but I honestly can’t find #12 – it’s not with the rest of the projects so I’ll have to look deeper. Yikes!

Happy first day of Advent. I haven’t looked for my #12 yet but am looking forward to getting another quilt done. This has been such a great idea! We did go to the Meany’s for their get-together. You asked about the ladies that now are part owners of our llamas and live out near Austin. They think of us as “family” now and we are so grateful. I try not to be a problem for them.lol! After all, I have spoiled our llamas and they have about 30 more. They are lovely ladies, the mom lives at the farm, the older of the two daughters works for Hormel and does the planting, etc. farm work and also helps, a lot, with the animals. The younger daughter is in her second year in college. The girls are part owners of our llamas now so that if something happens to us they will own them. They love the animals, have always loved Libby, and I know they take good are of them!! We feel like family there and it makes me so happy. We just sold our llama trailer to them as well. Our Roxy is pregnant so next Fall we will look forward to having a new baby!! If all goes well!

Mary, I think I can speak for all of us when we worry about you and slick walks. So glad you are fine after working yesterday.
We are digging out after the blizzard. And…we have sunshine 😃!
That chair sitting gets old quick, I’m glad you have a sewing room to escape to.

I forgot to say how much I enjoy the chicken pictures. They are getting big and are so beautiful. Thanks

I am keeping up with the dirty dozen. This month might be tight with so much going on. I already found my #12. It’s another quilt that my friend left me when she moved to Idaho. She didn’t want to take her UFOs with her and she thought I’d finish them. It’s probably been 3 years but since Mary started this dirty dozen I feel so good when I finish one. Thank you Mary. Love your blog. Be careful in that crazy weather. I live in northern California and we have had RAIN, wind and cloudy skies. I love it!!

I also have kept up with Dirty Dozens, just haven’t sent pictures. My #12 is “The The Radiant Cross” I want to finish for a friend for Christmas. Putting my tree up today (not decorated yet). I make lots of Christmas cookies and will work on 3 or 4 batches tomorrow to take to Dallas Newcomers Club for their raffle on Tuesday. Thanks for the great blog Mary!

Hi Mary, I’m keeping up with the Dirty Dozen, I’ve finished 5 things, so far. You have
inspired me to “move along smartly” and get some of my UFO’s done. Of course, I have way more than 12 of them, but at least I’m making progress!

Yes, yes, watch those slick sidewalks. I slipped on the ice 2 times — one broken wrist 12 years ago and one broken arm 9 years ago. Luckily both were on my left arm and I am right handed so at least I could still write. Emailing was harder as I use both hands and don’t look at the keys. It’s so different when using one hand and having to look at the keys. It sounds crazy but when I type, I just do it but I have no idea where the letters are when I have to look!!

It’s time to stay inside and hibernate!!

I’m a little behind, I have to admit. But, I’m further ahead than I would have been if I hadn’t joined in the Dirty Dozen! So that’s a win for me. My #12 is a Christmas gift so that will be wonderful to get that done in time. Mary, do you want us to click the ads? I’m confused on that. Let us know what is most helpful to you. Jan in MA

Mary, I lost my original Dusty Dozen List, but finished numbers 1,3 5 and have #7 which is just a sashing and border before machine quilting. Those are ready to cut and sew tomorrow. Today I finished #12…it’s a free small pattern from Temecula entitled GIVE THANKS Got it hand quilted with big stitch and bound. There are more projects in the works to put in 8, 9,10 & 11. 😇
Plenty of light fine snow off and on today. No sunshine @all!
Good you are careful when walking outside.
My sprained ankle is coming along.
