Oh, this is going to be fun! I’m going to take each quilt from the book out of the box and take its picture in my house and I will post them each day for 19 days – my own little book review. I love these quilts and hope to make several of them myself. Since we no longer have a retail shop, we won’t be selling this book, Civil War Remembered, published by Martingale but I’m sure you can order it online or ask your local quilt shop to order it for you. You might even try Amazon – anyone who has pre-ordered this book, will you post in the comments where you found it and everybody read the comments so I don’t have to go back and post it again. Our friend, Mary Ellen, owner of Little Quilts in Marietta, GA will be carrying it and I’m sure you could contact her to order it.

A question: When you make triangle squares, you cut 2 squares diagonally and then sew them together on the diagonal. Do you have to trim the completed triangle square or does it come out to the necessary size?
It seems that no matter how careful I am with my seams or the method I use, they always need to be trimmed…..
Betty – I hate trimming to size so I always cut the correct mathematical measurement – add 7/8″ to whatever finished size triangle square you want. Connie is in love with Thangles and you will have perfect triangle squares every time – guaranteed!
Thank you for your reply. I’m going to have to experiment with the different ways again. Trimming takes time, but if we don’t start out with the right size, the finished block won’t come out right…..
