Dirty Dozen August #8

Let’s see how this goes – in all this mess, I only hope I don’t miss someone but if I do, send it again and I will definitely post it. Drumroll, please!

Some photos are the backing of the previous quilt. I’ll show Connie’s and my Number 8’s in another post.

Thanks to all of you for playing DIRTY DOZEN!!!

Wow! It’s a quilt palooza! Enjoyed seeing everyone’s projects, so much inspiration in one post. Loved the small wool appliqué of Mary Hawk, so delicate and beautiful, and all the feed sack bags are so fun too. Now I have to have one.

It’s great to see all your photos, Mary. Hope the issues with your blog are fixed soon because I missed seeing all this fun stuff.

  9. Linda

I tried to post a simply comment of the following:
    Love seeing everyone’s creativity!
However got a message saying I already posted that comment. Nope, I didn’t!

  10. Marcella

A quilt show for sure, so enjoy seeing all the talent. Thanks again Mary! I sure was hoping you would figure out the problems on your blog. I kept trying to imagine what could possible be wrong. You have become the best news that I read during my day.

What a wonderful feast for the eyes! Just like the feeling I got as a youngster when the Sears Christmas catalog arrived! Thank you everyone and especially to Mary for the time she devotes to this blog!❤️

  12. Caryn Goulden

What fun:) Our own little quilt show!!
Thank you, Mary for being so persistent. I love them all and could make many of them.
They are wonderful. I can’t wait to see the 3’s.

  14. Diane, Squeak's Mom

I had a thought–oh no! In our replies to Mary’s next post, maybe we could put down the name of the pattern–IF we still have it–of our #8’s and perhaps, the designer?

    Just a thought.

Diane – only include it if it’s posted on top of the project – no more double pictures – I simply cannot keep track of them. And if someone has a question about a quilt, they can always ask in the comments and the owner can answer.

Beautiful projects! It was a wonderful incentive. So glad you are back on track with the blog. It’s so much fun to read! Has the next number been chosen?

Mary, thanks to you and Denise for working so hard to bring us posts like this one! I wish there were a “LIKE” button for each and every one of the projects! I can’t wait to see what the year unfolds for all of us and our Connie’s Dirty Dozen. And other interesting topics discussed on your blog. I’m working on organizing Bonnie Hunter’s next leader and ender project. The work in progress is the project from 2 years ago, Rails and Checkerboards (or at least that is what I am calling it). I have 3 more rows to go. I’m sure it will get finished soon and I want the next one to be ready to go. My #8 was the simplest project on my list. So I had time to get 3 baby charity quilts finished and 2 more cut out. I’ll use them as leaders and enders as well. But I needed to get the first 3 finished up to take to guild. My project #3 is a smaller project and my goal is to get it started this weekend. It will fit on one of the table stands – 12 x 18 or something like that. Welcome back, Mary! Of course we will wait for you! So thankful you did not give up!

All #8’s are great but I have to say WOW about Deb O of Big Lake Mn black & white with Kaffe prints. It just knocked my socks off It is so out of my comfort zone but I just love it.
Mary, I know you must be breathing a sigh of relief. Over 100 here today & same predicted for next 10 days. #3 here I come.

  20. Jeanine

I loved seeing all the finished # 8’s. I might suggest that next time when they put their name on the quilt they do it something like Gail Celeste did, with a magic marker. It was hard for me to read a lot of them. So glad this post worked for you. Looking forward to many more!!! Thank you so much!

  21. Nancy T.

Great work everyone! Enjoyed seeing all the #8 finished projects. Now we all need to get busy and finish #3. Thanks to Mary for all her hard work too. Nancy

  28. Rhonda

So impressed with the effort made to finish all these projects! They all are wonderful!

Hope someone can help me. Back when we were getting all the emails I unsubscribed to the blog as was suggested. I have every intention of signing up again but I do not see how to do that. Why did I find it easy to do the first time but now can not figure it out? What am I missing? Will just making a comment get me back on the list?

  29. Jessica in FL

Such beautiful work! Well done to all! I really enjoyed seeing all the different projects.

Wonderful show of quilts. Thank you for sharing. I am so glad you have been able to get on top of whatever computer program glitch that developed. We would miss you very much. I emailed my address to you as one of the 4 winners of a book. I was shocked and almost forgot to tx my address.
    Thank you again.
