The house seems eerily quiet tonight with just Telly and Roxie here. This morning was spent outside in the pool and studying one of the bad hair day chickens.

Bentley and Tucker claimed the pool. Bentley dried off in the chair but he didn’t know quite how to sit in it.

And then they discovered the chicken and it was like dog tv!

Those dogs are hilarious looking at that chicken! Dog tv is right!! ha ha So funny! We used to have chickens like that. They had babies and they were so fun to watch. The kids called one of ours Stephan (with emphasis on second part of name). They said he looked like a “French artist”!! Your chicken brings back memories! Love all your pictures! Diane
Your Bad hair day chicken is a hoot. A real smile. Love your pictures. Thanks so much.
Mary, That is like dog tv. Hope Rick enjoy’s his retirement and yes I remember having my husband home 24-7. Peace Micky
Love those bad hair day chickens…….as you call them. Off to watch the rain delayed Pocono NASCAR race……while in my sewing room this morning. We are cooling off today….just 99 degrees later this afternoon. Hope all goes well today with retirement.
Hi ya Mary, my G.daughter in NYC loves THE DOG DAYS SHOWS. I love the “shows” with fabric. Something for everyone! Lois in Omaha
Your picture of all of them looking at bad hair day chicken is priceless. It made me laugh out loud!! Enjoy your day:)
I think the bad hair day chickens are just too cute.
Ditto Carolyn’s comment! Your posts are a delight! Great start to the day!
Thank you are all the smiles your blog creates. You are like a family member to many of us as we read your blog and often wonder ….just how does she keep her sanity. Truthfully, your love of animals is absolutely heart warming. You have a special place in our hearts and our lives.
Love the ongoing saga from your house. Love the dogs! And the occasional cat, goat and chicken.
That chicken ain’t no chicken, she has no fear as long as the gate stays shut. My guess is that the dogs are thinking take home dinner.
Would love to know what they were all thinking.
Now for nap time and getting ready for a full time hubby. NAPS are ALWAYS WELCOME.
I am sure Telly and Roxie are wondering where everyone went and Thank God they are gone and now we don’t have to share.
Angie – you nailed it! I can just hear them thinking “Thank God they left!”
whew! it’s quieter now. what kind of chicken is that one. don’t think i’ve seen one like that. i do admit i am not a country girl, never lived on a farm or dealt with livestock or gardens. didn’t have a pet til i was in my teens. congrats to you. patti in florida
Patti – this chicken is a Polish Top Hat. I call her Bad Hair Day.
