Fabric Shopping?

Yes, it’s true! Connie and I went to Hobby Lobby and JoAnn’s this morning to find a decorator fabric for a new project that we’re going to show you.

The fabric is so reasonably priced – we need 1-3/4 yd, of the feature fabric.

So many pretty fabrics! And we also ran into Dawn who used to work at Country Threads -it was fun to catch up with what she’s doing.

I’m going to keep you in suspense for awhile until we get this project all figured out. In the meantime the two previous quilt patterns, Connie’s Cobblestones

And Hometown USA

Will be available ONLY until August 1, 2018. Each pattern is $3.00 and we ask that you send an address label. Thank you to all who have remembered to send their label – you can’t imagine how much time it saves us.

Someone day I’m going to write about pet peeves – you be thinking of YOUR pet peeves to write in the comments.

The squirrels have quit chewing off the leaves – for now. Goats are sad. No goats are pregnant – I just like to feed them and they like to eat.

Knee update – the pain is literally gone! I will wear the knee brace when I mow the ditch and it hurts a little bit when I stand after sitting but nothing like a week ago. I love my chiropractor, Mark Fritz! A joint mouse – ha! Never heard of it!

And I want you to meet Ivy, Sam’s golden doodle puppy. She found a leak in the hose and after a puddle formed, she dug a hole – had the best time! The only way this picture could be cuter is if Ivy were smiling – I’ll bet she had been before Sam discovered all that fun!

I love this picture! I have always had this well known picture hanging in my sewing room because it reminded me of Izzy and Janey.

Measuring the Corn – it’s soooo tall I will need another person to help me and Rick can’t walk down the ditch. I will measure when I can.

Okay – a summary. If you want Connie’s Cobblestones and/or Hometown USA at $3 each, please order by August 1. I can’t wait to show you what we’re going to make next!

Looks like a great sewers’ day out. The first large floral is my favorite, Mary and I haven’t seen the next pattern yet!
I’ve been pressing some sewn blocks from a new book…. so many 1” width strips. Cobblestones is a top that is completed and waiting for pressing as well. Have another smaller top ready to sandwich, too so I had better get busy.
Loved seeing Ivy after her fun water hole day?

So many fabrics, how can you ever pick just one. Looking forward to seeing your new project. I love Ivy, if I could have a dog this would be it, even the color is perfect. (Less the mud.) I got the directions for the two quilts last week, thanks. Corn around Gettysburg can’t ever come close to the beautiful corn in Iowa. One friend was really late planting and I’ll bet it isn’t two feet high, maybe not knee high.

Great fabrics, can’t wait to see the new project! And Ivy, I was literally laughing out loud at those pictures! She is a hoot! And so are you, Mary. Thanks for entertaining us all.

Had to laugh that you ran into Dawn whilst fabric shopping! Who would have thought?!!
Love the muddy dog pics. It hasn’t rained here for six weeks: we could do with some mud right now!

Had to laugh, yep I loved the dog pictures and I love to see all the other animals. And your plants! And the quilts! My friend and I came to visit you in the shop and she got upset cause I wanted to look at everything else, not just fabric! Yes, I too am looking forward to what’s new!

Looking forward to another new project!! Pattern calls for 1 3/4 yards?? Gee. . . Go way out on a limb . . . Buy 2 yds!! More than 1 kind even!! So you can make more!! 🤗😂😉

I’m excited about the new project – looks to be a lot of fun!
The golden doodle looks so funny, I can imagine he had a wonderful time!!
I have to give the new baby llama a shot tomorrow – she will be 4 weeks old then. Not looking forward to that as she is so feisty and will not want to be held and certainly won’t be happy about the shot. Wish me luck!!

Kathy – good luck with that! I can’t catch and hold my goats either.

      1. Kathy Hanson

Surprisingly it went quite well. You never know. I can imagine that goats would be pretty difficult. I have to halter the big llamas to do their shots but they are fine haltered and in chute.

I really loved that first fabric you displayed. I must get to Hobby Lobby and find some for myself. Looking forward to seeing what you and Connie have planned.

Ivy is a beautiful dog, mud and all! My daughter and son-in-law took their dog Diesel out on their boat the other day. He loves being on the water. Speaking of water , we are finally getting rain. How close is Marshalltown to you? We heard they had a terrible tornado this afternoon. I’ ll be praying for them. Glad to hear your knee is better.

Diane M – Marshalltown is sw of us about 3-1/2 hrs – it’s not close but I have a good friend who lives in that general area that I’m hoping to hear from.
