My four blocks are pieced correctly and sewn together. Now I will quilt it. Honestly, what an ordeal! But first I have some loose ends to tie up. One is my kitchen where I spent the day yesterday baking with some of those many eggs. I made 2 angel food cakes and then I made 2 sponge cakes with the leftover yolks. Sherry sent me her mom’s recipe for sponge cake which made 2 loaves and the second cake I put in a bundt pan and it came out perfect! I am gifting cake to my friends. What a lot of dirty dishes and baking pans all that baking creates. I would much rather be sewing or even mowing grass.
When Connie was here yesterday helping me mail out River Town patterns, we talked about making four blocks in bright colors from this pattern. Here’s River Town again and a close up of four blocks. If you’re interested in the pattern, send $10 to Mary Etherington, 2345 Palm Ave. Garner, IA. 50438.
Hadn’t really intended to post this morning but when I actually got the four blocks together I just knew you’d want to know – ha! Now – it’s on to something else!
Love those four blocks. They turned out perfectly!!

Glad you stuck with it – your quilt top looks great!
A really beautiful quilt! Great fabric choices. Are you getting any of that rain and flooding on the news about Iowa. Send some of that rain to S. Calif. So dry here.
Really pretty, love the colors in Riverton.
I really like the colors you used. Very pretty and I am sure you were glad to get those done! I have some baking to do this weekend and dread it. I would much rather be doing something else! Have a wonderful weekend.
Good to hear you got the top finished and lots of eggs baked into good things. Looking forward to your recipe. Wish I had half your energy.
I am interested in your dog boarding service at the end of November as we travel to Texas for my husbands Air Force graduation. My email is megantlusty@yahoo.com if you could get back to me I would really appreciate it! Thank you so much!
