Last weekend Reed and I went to Pet Kingdom in Algona, IA. The only pets they sell are fish, frogs, turtles etc. otherwise I couldn’t possible enter the store. It’s a big 2 story store with a grooming department and a huge variety of pet supplies. They have a koi pond near the front door which Reed enjoyed.
We also dropped Rox off at Pretty Paws to be groomed and Reed asked to meet Hannah’s basset hound named Oliver. Isn’t he a great dog?
Then one day this week when Reed didn’t have school we picked all the rest of the pumpkins except for those hanging on the fence. Look how many more pumpkins we found!
We admired all the pumpkins in front of the house – I see this every time I walk up to the front door. I love it!
This white box is something else I purchased at Antiques in the Park. So simple.
Give it a pot of Swedish Ivy and it’s beautiful!
Millie finds the oddest places to sleep.
And Tellie is pouting because Rick is driving truck today. I’m working on the succulents , cleaning and moving them into the house. Have a great weekend, Everybody!
I love all the pumpkins too!!! It just looks so beautiful there. So bright and sunny.
Looks like you and Reed have really bonded. Hope Rick doesn’t get jealous!
After the first frost and the beautiful pumpkin display starts to get mushy, will you transfer them to the grazing areas so the animals can enjoy them too? Just think how many pumpkins you would have had, were it not for that disastrous hail storm. Happy weekend to you too.
Hi Mary , I can not believe all the pumpkins especially after the hail storm. How wonderful and they look great along your walk.
We have been having summer weather in the Shenandoah Valley. I am starting to take care of the plants I want to save. I am finishing up my court house steps runner in orange and black.

I love Fall and pumpkins. Your pumpkins patch is so totally lovely to see!
Wow! So pretty!! Millie finds the most comfortable spots for sure! What a blessing you are to Reed ….
And he is to you!
Enjoyed your post today!
It looks like Tellie is wanting Reed to pay attention to her not those pumpkins!! Cute. Reed is such a good helper. Yes, Millie seems to love her “special” spots. Your front walk is so beautiful with all of the pumpkins. I love seeing all of your decorations and I know it takes time so THANK YOU for sharing:) Lovely day here in Central Ohio, too.
The pumpkins look so nice in the yard and I love that white box. Paula in KY
Delightful post today. I love seeing Reed enjoying your company. Fun to see all animals out in the sunshine. Love your pumpkins; we so love autumn! Have some wonderful days as we head into October!
Giggles : ) Have rarely thought of “stealing” something, but if I can figure out a way to move your “pumpkiny” front entrance from Iowa to here in Indiana, … but don’t think it quite possible. Thanks so much for sharing, have a great weekend, vickie
Beautiful pumpkins. Your soil must be spectacular to produce so much from those few vines. I have a tone of vines, but too few pumpkins.
Love Millie on that pillow…..way funny!!! You and Reed have such a wonderful time together. Love all your pumpkins. What do you use on your plants when you bring them back into the house. I love all the posts….thank you for making my day!
What a grand experience for Reed to pick all those pumpkins!!!! Makes me want a pile of pumpkins. Are pumpkins hard to grow???
Susie Q – just throw the seeds in a hill of dirt – we can grow most everything in Iowa!
Wow – and to think at one time thought that all the pumpkins were gone. There indeed are beautiful miracles all around us!
What fun to have so many pumpkins from harvest. I’d be saving a few for my own consumption.
I’ve taken smaller pumpkins, cleaned them out, saved seeds for roasted. Added cut up apples, pumkpin spices, nuts and raisins. Packed inside the pumpkin and baked.
The inside apple mixture was used on ice cream and the pumpkin part was saved for pies.
Ann – it sounds delicious!
What do you use on your house plants when you bring them into the house?
Becky – I posted it a few weeks ago – any commercial insecticide safe for houseplants.
Thanks…..I must have missed it
