Old Maid Puzzle – another easy block found on page 17 of your booklet. Two blocks are required and it’s helpful to look at her finished block on page 18. I tried to be brave again this week. What do you think?
This completes the major blocks. Next week we will start making the filler blocks, multiple simple blocks. After these blocks, we start on the strips and putting the sections together.
Hope everybody is caught up – I can see how helpful a design wall is going to be when sewing the strips with the blocks.
And here’s what Connie’s been working on. Laying rock along her walkway at the lake will keep the dirt from washing away. I have the supply of rocks and they have a no return policy.
Meet my boarder, Gus Larson. He’s an 8 month old English Labrador and he’ll be here for a couple weeks.
I like both blocks! Some weeks I prefer one over the other, but this week…both are great! I guess it will depend upon how your design comes about.
Block #2 is a real charmer!
Yes indeedy..love them both, great fabric choices. Cute pups as usual.
You have really moved along on this, very motivating. Love both of these blocks, can’t wait to see your strips. I’m having Gypsy withdrawals because there are two birthday quilts to be finished. Hope to catch up to you real soon.
Mary, Your blocks turned out just lovely. Can’t wait to see your Gypsy Wife on a design wall when you get that far; won’t be much longer now!
Gus Larson sounds like a real Scandinavian name from my home town. Has he located the treat jar yet?
Hi Mary,
I like your blocks! Especially the grey and maroon one, very chic! I used more fabrics for the first time in the quilt this week – I’ll repeat them in the filler blocks and strips. Almost through my collection of Civil War fat quarters.
Regards, Fiona.

Fiona-you have such a talent for posting about Gypsy Wife. Hey, Everybody! Have you gone to Fiona’s blog Ice Bear Quilts? My biggest issue is forgetting to take pictures throughout the process which you have done so beautifully.. You understand your computer better than I do, too. I love the graphic of the blocks marked off on the quilt.
