Happy Valentines Day

It was 40 degrees today! Someone mentioned to me that Valentines Day is their “marker” for all downhill to spring! I hope they’re right. I haven’t been out shopping for a long time so I went to Mason City today. For those of you out of the area, Mason City is about 23 miles away, about 30,000 population and it’s where we shop at the Big Box stores. I avoided them today just because I could and I went to the thrift stores. Got some fun stuff – I’ll take pictures tomorrow and post – right now it’s time to get supper on the table.

I looked up the recipe for the almond sheet cake and make it yesterday – I was wonderful. Even took some to the office to share with my co-workers today. Thanks for the suggestion!!!

Love your heart shaped piece of wood. A work of art on it’s own. The table top quilt sets it off so well.

Valentine’s Day was always my marker for not having to turn on my headlights when leaving the gym at 7:15 a.m. After having such a beautiful first six weeks of the year, here in Phoenix, we greeted long awaited rain drops today. Maybe enough to measure!
I do love the valentines quilt. The colors are wonderful. And now I know what “heart wood” looks like.

Happy Valentine’s Day. Your little quilt is just perfect! I love the colors; my dining room table would love a similar one. I am looking forward to seeing your thrift store treasures; what a fun day! Thanks, Jeanie

The table arrangement is great. Thanks for the next wood ” project” for my husband!! He has a week before knee surgery #2 and needs something to do. That heart is cool. I need to make the almond bars, but not eat them–Ha!!

Sounds like you had a special day in getting out to shop at the thrift store. Sometimes you can find a treasure there and enjoy the search for extraordinary items. Your quilt sets off the table so well. Glad to hear that your temperatures are warming up a bit. Hope this was a wonderful Valentine’s Day for you and hubby.
