Here’s what I’m working on.

I have always admired these Granny Square blocks and Lori Holt sure makes it easy.

Here is one block in progress.  I want to make 15 blocks for twin size and add a pieced border.  I will post my progress. Here’s another group of Japanese fabrics from many years ago.

I am cutting rectangles from these gorgeous fabrics and will keep you posted.

Here is my newest boarder named Pepper who lives in Sioux City.  Her family is vacationing 15 miles from here at Clear Lake.  They sure did pick a hot week to spend at the lake which will be perfect.

I watched the movie Hundred Foot Journey this morning while I sewed in the AC.  It was a great movie – I had several interruptions so I’d like to watch it again some time.

And here are Gloria’s Gypsy Wife blocks – very, very nice!

I so want to make any of the Granny Squares quilts! HIGH on my list of Wanna Do’s. I like the smaller version as well, using only the center square and then 4 squares of print #2 …
Question: How come it is SO hard to find 3 fabrics that “go well together” –? EASY to find 2!

I made that quilt and absolutely love it! I have been collecting 30s prints for the last ten years and I actually cut all those squares as Lori Holt suggests for her scrappy look. I will be making some of the other patterns in that book for the next ten years to use up the leftovers. I am not skilled at putting varied fabrics together but with the old prints, it does not seem to matter.

You and Connie have been such an inspiration, and I should just follow your leads and not fuss so much about how close the colors are. The last time I was in your shop, I was looking for a certain shade of red, and you said any of them would work. You were right!

Heavens, I cannot keep up! You are so prolific in your quilting…and then, you do so much else everyday! Good thing you retired!

Sometimes I sew a test block if I’m not certain about colors….then I make a pot holder with the test block.

Love the Granny Squared blocks…another great idea for my “leaders and enders”.

Beautiful! I love the color combo with the gypsy squares. I have the hardest time matching colors. Inspiring!!
