Why didn’t I post this sooner????? I hung this quilt for Fourth of July and we’re offering you the pattern, no photo, for $3.00. You won’t get it done for this year’s holiday but you could start for next year.
Hometown USA, 35″x49″
This quilt appeared in one of our first books for Martingale and then became a single pattern because we loved it so much.
If you’re ordering this pattern and just happen to have an extra address label you could send along, it would make my job so much easier. Just slap that label on the envelope and into the mailbox it goes. Thanks in advance.
(This posting has already crashed once so there will be no “tests” this time. I am no techie so I’ll be experimenting again soon. No ads will appear in the email – only on our home page so that’s why I want you to go there.)
Here’s my other favorite Fourth of July quilt – Uncle Sam.
This pattern is complicated and we need to lay it out for our copier and we promise to do that but not right now so UNCLE SAM PATTERN IS NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.
Last night after supper as I looked east there were some more interesting clouds. Even though our rain chances had been only 10% all day, it had already rained twice.
The dogs and I headed to the garden to try to weed a few onions. As soon as we got out there it rained again but as I stood up from my weeding this is what I saw.
A double rainbow! It felt like a reward for being out there weeding in the rain!
And the old hens are laying again – they took a break a few weeks ago and I can never resist taking pictures of their beautiful eggs.
My hibiscus is also blooming it’s little heart out.
Rick is up walking with his boot on and even helped me with the mowing. YAY! We go back to Mayo July 5.
OK – here’s the summary:
Hometown USA pattern, $3.00, include an address label if you think of it.
And I hate to be redundant but Connie’s Cobblestones is still available, also for $3.00.
Thanks for helping me with the “test”yesterday — if I were smarter I’d be able to figure this out myself! Hahaha! Connie is with her grandkids at Adventureland today – what fun!
Your computer skills are better than mine. I retired 20 years ago. Computers are a lot different now and had my fill working with them for too long and than and lost interest.
Can you tell us which book Hometown USA is in? I have a lot of your books and might already have the pattern.
Cathy – Quilt Shop Series, Country Threads
Thanks for asking, I have that book!
Everything is just beautiful from the quilts to the Hibiscus flower an inbetween.
You post really made me happy today!
Thanks
I love this log cabin quilt, but where do we send the order and the money? Do we send cash or a check made out to Country Threads? Thanks for making this available!
Judy w -address found on home page – just click on the title of the post, in this case it’s Hometown USA. Check to. Country Threads or cash, no PayPal. If you can’t access home page let me know.
Thank you!
I sent $3 and a note to order a cobblestone pattern and have not received yet. I sent it nearly a month ago.
I enclosed a self addressed/stamped envelope
Martha -pattern in the mail right now! Don’t know where the first one landed!
Martha -I found your order immediately and know it was sent because Connie wrote you a personal note about Ben. I will put another copy in the mail today – if both arrive please give the extra copy to a friend. You’re in Gotham, ME, right? Looks like you even sent an envelope. How is your husband doing?
I would like to purchase your pattern ” Hometown USA”, but am at a loss as to where to mail my money! It most likely is in a very conspicuous spot, but durned if I can find it! If you will respond with the address I will mail my envelop and money right away! Thank you.
Trudy -please click on the title of the post Hometown USA and you will go to our home page where you will find the address.
I would very much like an Uncle Sam Pattern, thanks Ilda
Ilda- Uncle Sam is NOT available -I think I made that very clear
Wasn’t your book the very first in the Quilt Shop Series? And it is a very nice book. I think that “In the Company of Chickens” is my very favorite! I don’t have all of your books or patterns, but I do have a LOT of them and I cherish all of them. And I even know where they are! When you were talking about “Chicken Salad” I went right to the place where the kit and pattern was filed. That’s scarey?
Betty
Betty – you have an incredible memory! We should all be so blessed!
Sending my money tomorrow…please save me one!
Thanks!!!
Suzanne -will do!
Wow is Adventureland outside of Des Moines still open. I went there a lot when I was a teenager. Good memories!
Jeri – still open and bigger every year!
Such a beautiful double rainbow. Lucky you!
Thanks for all of your farm news. Love the colored eggs.
If your Uncle Sam on the bicycle should ever become available as a pattern, you’d sell out in now time but I realize the amount of work involved in writing and drafting the pattern. Something to think about next winter???
Made a variation of this quilt not too long ago, for my husband. He picked out all the fabrics (of course nothing in my stash would do), and chose to do more house blocks–he planned the layout of all of them, too. The quilt is lap size and has an Ultra Fluffy fabric for the backing and binding so that it is really soft to snuggle under while watching TV (in the winter). If I could, I would post a photo. Love all the quilts in that book (still)–it’s a classic!
How long will the Hometown USA pattern be available?
Sara – it will be available as long as this blog exists
I love the Hometown USA quilt…in fact I made it as my 9/11 quilt and called it United Neighborhood as our circle of neighbors gathered and joined in prayer. Thank you for a wonderful pattern.
Hope the double rainbow will bring double luck. Always love your pictures especially around the farm. Sending my order for the patterns tomorrow. The hibiscus is beautiful. I used to have a double red one that got to big & old. I have a cutting that is rooted so hope it will prosper.
Glad Rick is up and about! Love both patterns.

Janie -that’s exactly what it’s supposed to do!
But I don’t see an address for pattern! What am I doung wrong?
Janie – Country Threads, 2345 Palm Ave Garner, IA 50438
Janie – if you get the blog post by email, click on the title of the post. It should take you to our home page and you will find our address on the right hand side of the page below our picture. Let me know if this works for you.
Thank you for sending address! Couldn’t get to it no matter what I tried!
Oh, how pretty the hen’s eggs are! I loved the pictures you posted of the little baby goat you were taking care of. I had a Nubian as a child – I am now 80 so that was a very long time ago! I still think they are the sweetest goats – not as agressive as some other breeds. Keep posting – I love reading them, but don’t often comment. Thank you for taking time from your busy schedule to do this.
