I finally got a short email from Connie – all is well and the classes have been really fun. That’s it. I have nothing more to report from her. Ugh! Next week I’ll make her give us a full report.
So here are my 3 boarders – Jackson, Mia and Hope. They are some tired dogs at night after playing outside all day.
More cat pictures:
Pretty Kitty
Tammy
and Millie.
And this was yesterday’s project – hosing down the screened porch.
This morning I played the piano at Prairie View for their May Day breakfast – no drinking my coffee until 9 am today !
If a picture is worth 1,000 words, you sure did have a lot to say today!
We hit 99°F yesterday so the AC was turned on today. It works, but now it’s cold in the house. Will have to find the right temp and stick with it. Busy sorting old pictures and thinking about a quilting project.
In the words of the small town paper where my grandparents lived, it looks like “a good time was had by all.” I’m trying to imagine sewing on a ship when I get so motion-sick. That just wouldn’t work. Such a nice screened-in porch–they’re the best!
Oh, to be as relaxed as a kitty in the sunshine!
HAPPY MAY DAY Mary, Years ago my grandma taught a cousin and I to make assorted styles of construction paper baskets to fill with fresh flowers and to hang on her neighbors’ front door knobs. We garnered a few thank you cookies, too. Your screened porch looks so inviting; like an ideal spot for some hand sewing and relaxing. We’re going to top out at 92 give or take a degree this afternoon.
Hi Mary, cruise ships like to charge big $$ for internet access, or phone calls for that matter – something like $3 a minute, some crazy amount. You probably won’t hear much until she gets home! Sherry
When I was a kid in Iowa we were supposed to set the May basket filled with candy by the door and ring the door bell. Then the recipient of the basket was supposed to catch and kiss us. I don’t remember that really happening.
Love the screened porch. I just can’t imagine houses not having screen doors or windows. Aren’t there bugs everywhere?
We still have some of your quilts in our shop! Are the patterns still available? Your new book is great!
Patterns may still be available depending on which quilts you still have. Contact me at marye@ncn.net
Mary I love your daily posts. Wanted to know you bring Iowa back to me. And the heat and no green of Southern California goes away for awhile. It’s been 15 years since I visited home.
Connie looks like she’s having a great time! Love all the doggy and kitty photos. You are moving along smartly with your springtime chores! Love hearing all your adventures.
