It’s A New Day x 2

Oh my gosh, I have so much new data in my head.  Let’s see if I can get it posted.

http://Www.country-threads-chicken-scratch

Already this format looks different.  I will continue and hope for the best.

First of all Jenny at Martingale has posted on her blog Stitch This! (can’t get the link to post here – sorry) a review of a new book called Text It! By Sherri Noel.

i have this book and any time I want to personalize a quilt, I go to this book with several alphabets to choose from and several techniques to use.

(Now why won’t this picture stay by the text like I want it to?????!!)

And now it disappeared so I have to find it again, resize it and insert it.Enough already – I’m calling Jenny!

Got it, never heard of the book, and at first I was thinking, as I read, that you meant making s label! But no, something much cooler! Need the book.
Today the only ads are from a company called Virtue, it appears several times each time you post, and there is no x, at least not on my phone. I’d live to x it out and make it go away. So today, it appears five times, and alas, I have no ads to close! Next time…

Everyone’s ads are unique to them. no one else is seeing the ads that you are seeing because the ads come based on your search history.

  2. Teresa

Can’t close the Ads in this post but it’s always the same ones for “Virtue-heal your hair all summer long”. No other Ads in this post.

  3. Diane, Squeak's Mom

I have pictures and closed 5 ads:) I am on my computer so maybe that’s why. Almost every time I can close ads on iPad, too. One of my ads that always comes is lipstick for the MATURE woman–LOL. I’m 68, but as Jimmy Buffett sings, I am growing older, but not up:) Please tell us about the Text It book.

    1. Kathy in western NY

Ha Diane! I also get the lipstick ad. How do they know we are 68 years old!
Closed several other ads on my iPad so happy I can do it easily. The book sounds like one I would use over and over again too.

  4. Madelyn

I was able to close adds today. I love closing adds. It’s almost like a game 😁.
    I NEED that book.

    Madelyn from TX

  5. Marilyn

No ads on my iPad but I was able to see them and close them on my iPhone 😯crazy how technology does what it wants.

  6. Diana

You spoke about this book earlier so I ordered it from Amazon. I love it! I am always looking for applique alphabets, and this has so many options. Thanks for the recommendation!

Headed to the fair this week to see how I did in competition,. I always like to see my quilts hanging, but this year I entered jams and jellies, also.

    Hi Mary!
Gosh, this has been a big trial for you! bless you for sticking with it. Love reading you every day. I sure miss the shop, but we all have to retire and enjoy life for ourselves. Thanks for all you do!!

  8. Linda in So. Cal.

Received a blog from Martingale this morning promoting “Text It” ! Thanks for your input …. will order a copy. I didn’t realize there are books for alphabet quilting. Learn something new everyday!

  9. Joyce from NY

The book looks very intriguing. Glad your back Mary. I closed 2 ads, both were about quilting for beginners on my phone.

  10. Sharon Lowy

Martingale advertised that book today! So glad you are able to text again. I got and closed 2 ads today. Welcome back.😊

  11. Carla J

Mary, thank you for the book endorsement. It looks intriguing. Post looks good, Book photo is very large.
Seven ads, I could close six of them.
May you have a wonderful weekend.

  12. Launa

Mary, Nice book….some of mine are still unpacked. So busy here all the time, Mary. Have 4 house plants a neighbor dropped by on way back to TX! Plenty of daylight hours so they are growing!
Closed 3 ads. More thunder storms here thru weekend!

  13. Suzanne

Bless you for your persistence …only one ad for febreze, no X. I have never seen this book, will have to look for it.

  14. Darlene from Texas

I had photos and five ads to close. The book looks like something I have been wanting for some time. Thanks for letting us know about it.

  15. Nikki M in Tx

Cannot believe, guess is like the saying goes, “Great minds work alike.” Received Martingale blog this morning & ordered this book.
Beautiful day but hotter than he… 101.. don’t even want to know heat index as it doesn’t matter, hot is hot! Plan any errands , or outside activities for early morning, as evenings don’t cool off until well after dark. At 9pm last evening was still in low 90’s. August definitely here.
Working on #3…..know why it was a UFO….I don’t like it! Oh well, almost completed with piecing, then will machine quilt myself as is a table runner & I don’ t want to spend any more $ or time on it.

  16. Jo in Wyoming

I get boxes with X’s…bu nothing inside, so I closed them too!!
Love that you are up and running, like a kid in a candy store.
    Everybody, have a great weekend!

  17. Deborah F Smith

I was going to order your Frankenstein pattern. Then I thought I’d better check to see what I have. I have the Dr. Frankenstein’s Monster pattern. What fun it will to put it together!

  18. Bobbie

Mary, you are doing a wonderful job. I’m like you I hate all this punch this click on that to me it’s so complicated. I have really bad internet where I live and half the time it won’t load any pictures. I have to take my iPad and go to town to see anything. Just hang in there maybe it will get easier soon.
Where do we buy the book? Seems like it would be a good one for us that don’t have embroidery machines.
I had 4 ads I could close today.

    1. CountryThreads Post author

Bobbie – go directly to Martingale to order the book. I think you’ll like it!

  19. Kay Crandall

Glad you are able to post pictures again, but it still doesn’t seem like it is smooth going for you. So sorry it’s causing trouble – hate it when things aren’t working perfectly! When I sign on my computer there are no ads to close, but if I sign on with my phone there are tons! If I wait a while and sign on again, different ads come up with the same post so I close them again! The Text It book sounds really interesting – will have to give it a look.

  20. Judy

Five ads to close. My lipstick ad said “for the mature….” Ha! Shows how little they know!

    Judy in Texas

    1. Kathy in western NY

Oh gosh Judy, I am laughing……those darn lipstick ads which I guess is telling me I should wear it if I am “ mature.”

      1. Sherry Whalen

Lol…I am 63 and can probably count on 2 hands the number of times I’ve ever worn lipstick. Probably not going to start now wearing ‘mature’ lipstick even if it is great!! Sherry

  21. Diane Bauer

5 ads to close for me—two for the same book (guess what I regularly buy online???), two for “cheap” cell phones (someone clearly thinks my iPhone 6s is ready for replacement), and one for furniture here locally. I’m sure i’ve closed the lipstick ad fifty times! Interesting what pops up for people. I know how the ads are supposed to work, but they don’t always make sense in comparison to what I shop for.

I have sewing on my mind for the weekend, but also need to work on some edits for some forms for work. Bought fabric on the way home. Any guesses what I’d likely to win out? Have a good weekend, all!!

  22. Bernie

You tube says if you ad an “s” on http it is safe from hackers. hppts? I am sure your computer helpers are aware of this. Hope it helps.

  23. Brenda archambault

Glad to see you’re somewhat up and running. Well, almost. Have a couple of UFOs done with xcept for the quilting and afraid to tackle that until my wrist/arm is is more fully healed. Not to worry, have plenty more projects to work on.
Re the ads, there were some at the beginning of the blog and then, another 5 following your and Connie’s pictures at the bottom, so everyone, keep scrolling and clicking.
And Mary, please have a restful weekend sewing and doing your farm chores and forget the £€=+%}\#** blog for a couple of days. Feet up, beer in hand and relax!

  24. Marsha

Really, really miss your newsy blog posts & sorry you are having such a struggle getting things to work (story of my work life since I work woth computers all day long)! So I commiserate! I have never seen ads beford but got one on this post.

  25. Jan from TN

I closed 5 ads today. I already have this book! It’s pretty awesome! Of course, I haven’t done anything with it but it’s right there in my stash of bazillions of quilt books just in case I get the urge! LOL!!

  26. Dona 71

so glad you are up and running even if it is half throttle . glad you are back.
I barely notice the sideways pictures. we will take anything we can get!!!
