Just Checking In

Yup, I’m still sick but I have an appointment at the clinic this afternoon.  I don’t know what I’d have done if Rick had not been home for the past 5 days to do the chores and entertain our dogs.  I do know that I have really enjoyed having Buddy the white golden retriever here to keep me company.  I am going to post a series of “action” shots taken on Saturday when Gus was here.  I was always anxious to have Gus and Buddy here together as they’re the same age, same color but one is a golden retriever (Buddy) and  the other  (Gus) is an English Lab.  Remember these are Action Shots!

And a few more — not quite so active.

I promise to return to quilting when I am well again.  And of course we will be starting the Rug Along — I have not forgotten!  And Christmas will happen whether I’m well or not.  We will see what the doctor has to say.  The remainder of my shopping, decorating and baking will just not happen.  Here’s my sweet Buddy—-

I hope you feel better soon! No fun at all to be ill at Christmas. And thanks for the action shots of the beautiful dogs. Looks like they had a good time vacationing at your home.

Hope you are feeling better soon, Mary. I finally feel like I’m alive today after being down with strep the last 4 days! Good thing I had most of my Christmas things done as I sure didn’t do much those 4 days. Catching up today on house work and grocery shopping before volunteering 2 places tomorrow and having grand girls over Wed. to finish up the baking. Thursday eve is our family Christmas so it will all be done by Friday. Sarah and girls will be staying a few days and then my sister and family come next week. I think I will be happy when Jan. comes.

Ahhhh, brothers from a different mother (and father), I love their coats. Hope you feel better soon, get the creative juices flowing and looking forward to the New Years of quilt-alongs (please stay away from anything like Gypsy Wife-still recovering) Goat Coat Reports and Goose Gossips. Merry Christmas!!!

I can sure sympathize with you. Whatever is in the air hit me like a ton of bricks last Thursday and went straight to my chest. I hate upper respiratory infections as there is nothing much to done, but let it run its coarse. My poor husband was afraid I was going to overdose on Vitamin C with all the grapefruit juice, oranges and grapes I was devouring. Today I am not perfect, but a lot better I was. Good luck at the dr office. I am with everyone else….love these pictures of your guests. They make me laugh ….which is good medicine too.

Sorry to hear you are ill. Chicken soup and sleep is what I advise. I want to tell you, each time I receive an e-mail it is like getting another Christmas present. I and a whole lot of other people wish you a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful Healthy and Happy New Year. MaryLou

Take careMary and rest–this too shall pass. Some of those viri are relentless. Love the dog pictures–lots of energy there and a lot of fun. Those retriever types are really party boys in hiding. We had two at one time and I said never again–lucky the house survived. Merry Chtistmas to you and Rick.

Yes, Mary–lots of Chicken or other kinds of soup–breathe in that good steam!! Plus, the Dr. will help:)
If I were a dog and lived near you, I’d pick your house for my place to stay!! Lots of love there from the 4 paws crowd. Get better SOON!! Merry Christmas. I, too, look forward to my daily (or whenever) email from you. I still have copies of the Goat Gazette I read now and then:) Rainy in Central Ohio.

Take life easy and Christmas will come with or without cookies. These times of illness give you a chance to rest. Hope you are better soon.

I’m wondering what you found out at the doctor. It wouldn’t be just a cold to last this long and it is better to get help instead of toughing it out especially with some of the stuff going around these days. You will have to report as we are all thinking about you and want you to get better so we can all get back to normal – whatever that is. Betty from Rapid City
