Connie and I have hashed over camp details long enough and now we want your input.
June 3-4 is our beginner camp. This is the only beginner/intermediate camp we plan to schedule. We will work on approximately 3 projects. Anyone at the advanced level can certainly attend this camp and make the same projects. The price of this 2 day camp is $125.00. One possible project is our version of “Pick Up Sticks”. We are also considering a wool pincushion and a charm project with a machine quilting demo which will require a quilting foot.
September 30 – October 3 is our only fall camp and we would like to change the flavor of the camp and work on only one project that everyone can complete during camp. Your fabric kit will be included in your camp fee which will be determined after we decide what we’re going to work on. Here are some ideas:
Red and White Saw Blade Quilt that I showed on the blog last Christmas. Lots of precise piecing with the use of Thangles and just 2 fabrics, red and white.
Queen Size Lone Star Quilt – all rotary cut and hopefully finished during camp.
A past Civil War quilt – possibly January 2014’s project
We would like some suggestions from you. What would YOU like to make during a 4 day camp?
We will reserve the right to cancel camp at the last minute if we don’t have at least 15 campers.
OK – now I’m going to wait to hear from our readers. Talk to me!
Mary
I like the ideas you have. Mostly the Civil War quilt or the Red and White Saw Blade. Those two sound quite intersting.
You have to include the striped backing fabric to use as a guide to quilt the front! I picked some up yesterday when I was in the shop and Love the results! I just used it quilt a small table topper, but give a demo on that during camp. I’m looking at backing fabric differently now. Thanks, girls, for helping me and to Mandy, whom you posted one of her quilts in a previous blog, for inspiring me to give it a try!
More info on camp please..accommodations? Air port to fly into? Rent a car? Transportation?
