Let’s Talk Patriotic Quilts! 5-21-26

Thank you for all the fun seeing your plaid quilts! So many of you sent me pictures and I loved it – plaids will always be included in most any quilt I would make which are usually scrappy.

Here are a couple more plaid quilts:

Here’s what I could find about pictures not showing up. I have no answers except go online and read the blog post there if you want to see the photos. Sigh.

When I went to the barn to close the doors, the girls were snuggled together in the chair and it would have been a fabulous picture but as soon as they saw and heard me, they got up – here’s what I got – use your imagination.

This is what I tackled this afternoon – cutting up one of those piles of branches so the dogs and I could get through on the wilderness trail.

Ta Da!!

All with my trusty little saw!

PATRIOTIC QUILTS GALORE!!!!!

From now until July 4 please send me your patriotic quilt pictures. A reader sent me her quilt photo and it just happened to be patriotic so here is the first of this series. It also uses plaids! Such a great quilt!

I have a collection of patriotic quilt patterns to make available but since posting too many pictures could be the issue, I’ll wait till tomorrow.

This is my quilt made from Linda Brannock’s pattern America For Me.

I’ve made so many patriotic quilts and I’ll add them as we make our way to Memorial Day, Flag Day (our anniversary) and July 4th. Please join me for a…….

    The goats are so cute!
I am impressed you gals have power tools. I have always been happy my dad bought me a screwdriver, which I had to hide in my sewing machine drawer. With a husband and three sons, if that screwdriver ever went to the garage, it would ever find its way back to the house. 🙄

I love my little chain saw too. Also have a little bitty battery drill, power saw and chain saw on an extension pole. I think they all were designed for the ISS. All screws are 7/16 in the ISS and all the same head.
The plaids are great. I need to find mine. Oh well.

Patriotic quilts! This reminds me it’s time for me to change up the decor here and get out my red, white, and blue quilts! Thank you! I’ve always loved you America For Me quilt, and such a sweet photo of you both in front of it!

I made the first quilt on the blog many years ago. I used all flannel in it, and it is really warm. It was one of the first Country Thread patterns I made.

So fun to see all the quilts and the animals. Love your two little goats. Reminds of the time we had goats many years ago. They were a lot of fun to watch when they were babies, filled with lots of energy!

Our corn and beans need some warmer weather and sun, and it sounds like we will get that this weekend.

Have a safe and happy Memorial Day, and always remember why we celebrate this important day.

My guys got me a battery chainsaw but it scares the heck out of me but I like your little one. May have to go look for one. The only power tools I’m comfortable with is my sewing machine and battery weed whacker. Love your animal photos. I followed you for the quilts but look forward to the animals.
Monday’s parade goes right by my house.

Suzanne – the quilts and the animals go together in my world – haha! You should try this little mini chin saw – I can use it one handed even – I also have a bigger cordless saw but prefer the mini. And also a weed eater, hedge trimmer and several blowers – and I use all of them!

Joy – I had no time to ache – I moved the plants upstairs from the basement – plant lights are off for the season! We are blowing away today – from the SE

I loved seeing all the patriotic quilts! Especially love the pic of you and Rick with the plaid flag quilt behind you, precious!
Those 2 goats are so adorable, how fun it was for you to find them together like that!
You did good clearing that part of the wilderness trail with that might little saw, guess I need to get one for my hubby! Hope you are not too sore!

That little saw is great. We inherited one when we bought our little farm. It has been handy. The goats are so cute. Isn’t it always that way it’s like they know. When I sent you the picture of Hammie the other day, there was a much cuter picture of her and same thing, as soon as I pulled my phone out to take a picture she started walking away. Have a good day everyone.

Wow-you had a workout today! I need to get one of those saws. Ours is too big and heavy for me to manage. Great pictures!
