Rose’s gray squares are cut 4-1/2″ and the colored squares are cut 1-1/2″. Rose cut triangles but I would use connector squares.
This is what I did with the triangles and squares that were leftover. I put all the triangles together into triangle squares and joined them into rows and added a few rows of sashing just for a little piece to lay on a table in the porch next summer. Then I sewed all the leftover squares together, added borders on top and bottom, quilted both front and back and made a porch pillow, too. It’s so fun to just sit and sew scraps together into small projects for my house which is something I never had time to do when we were open. Then every minute was spent sewing projects for the shop.
Happy Sunday!
Cute and enjoy retirement, you worked for it.

Thank You for the measurements. I’m so happy for you that you now get to do what you want. Nancy P.
Pretty pretty! What a great use of scraps or “leaders and Enders”!
These are so pretty! I can’t wait to retire and do that too. Congratulations! You so deserve it!
Good Morning Mary,
I LOVE the small topper and the pillow you made. Nice to make projects to add cheerfulness to your home. There is nothing like being retired and putting the good hours to hobbies.
Foggy and cold here……….

They turned out wonderful!!! Need to get started on all my scraps, you have inspired me, once again!
LOVE all the ideas for using up my scraps!!
Ladies, the Kaffe Fassett scraps were tiny when I gave them to Mary. They were originally from 5″ squares which I used to make jumbo yo-yos. I couldn’t bare to throw away the triangle leftovers so I made a template for half triangles for the gray squares. The squares that Mary made from the leftover triangles were no more than 1 to 1-1/2 inches too tiny for me to make something as wonderful as the pillow and topper. So my yo-yo project really is like a friendship bread, when passed on it keeps on making something wonderful.
I am a beginning quilter and I don’e understand how the triangle square was done on the Rose quilt? Were the triangles put on the corners of the squares? Sorry to be so dense. N.
Google “connector squares” – sew across square and flip over – trim the triangle underneath. A diagram would help you.
Hi Mary,
I think the cushion and the table topper look great. Now I know what to do with my tiny Kaffe Fassett leftovers! The dog rooms look good too, what lucky dogs they are, who get to vacation with you.
Fiona.
