Linda in Michigan has a new baby – abandoned some how and weighs only 12 oz. Vet thought she might be 5 weeks old. Now she has Sammie and Nelson to care for her. Minnie is the perfect name for her, isn’t it?

Hank came to visit today.

More cleaning today and more walnuts picked up.

………. . . . . . . . .
An applicant at a job interview:
Boss: how do you explain this 4 year gap in your resume?
Applicant: that’s when I went to Yale.
Boss: impressive! I think you’re hired.
Applicant: thank you! I really need the yob.

Pamela, your quilt is very pretty. Sometimes I think things need to be so complicated and to have the squares all separated with one fabric makes it so beautiful. You get to appreciate all the fabrics. I can’t wait to see it with the flying geese around it. How big will it end up being? I can’t wait to be moved in and back to my sewing room. I’m lucky 10 days after we move in I am going to a quilt retreat, certainly not convenient but I am looking forward to quilting as I haven’t been sewing since June.
We r still babysitting our friends puppy! Love him! He is so well behaved. This morning he figured out that i he looked out our patio door he could see some intruders by the machine shed! Our black cats. It kept him really busy guarding our house from them! Barking and growling and running back to us! And repeating! Our friend ad surgery for an aneurysm between his heart and kidney. He is very weak so they want to keep him in the hospital until Tuesday. She was feeling bad about Mac still being here. No problem! Entertainment!
Have a nice weekend everyone!
Joy – I must have missed the puppy visit – what kind of puppy? I’m sure he is lots of entertainment!
HI Mary, Yes, I am still in the land of the living, but soooo busy with lots of things. Four of us went on the Northeastern part of the All Ohio Shop Hop on Wednesday and Thursday. We spent the night in the Aurora Inn which was so lovely and beautiful. It is very old, but modern rooms and baths. I was not going to go b/c I don’t NEED anything, but guess what? I discovered some things I DO NEED. Ha. It was really fun:)
Minnie is perfect. She reminds me of my kitty, Tiptoe, I had as a kid. She was a black calico like Minnie and so sweet. I have been doing lots of work on cutting fabrics for Honor FLight kits. I met a WWII Vet. who is 100 years old!! Really neat:) Today, I worked on a mug rug, did laundry, and one granddaughter is coming over for an early dinner and we are taking the other out to dinner for her 24th bday. I also laid out an Atkinson flannel baby quilt that I need to make the blocks so I can put it together at our Guild retreat which starts on Friday 9/5. I also have some pillow cases and a 3 yard quilt to make there. I am hoping to read the past 4 or so blogs and the comments. I miss reading them. I love the quilts and pets today:)
Take care everyone. Did I tell you it has been 14 years since Squeak showed up in the Big Lots Parking lot?
Diane – Squeak is the original success story!!! I can’t believe it’s been 14 years. And now we will watch over Minnie – good job with all those projects you have going – have fun at the retreat.
Mary, you are right! She has been a success and still lively. Minnie is the cutest teeny baby😻😻 I will send photos from the retreat.
Pamela – I love your quilt. I always like the fall colors. Tell your husband he did a great job in laying our those blocks. That would have taken a long time!
Minnie is so cute. So glad she has a happy home now.
I clicked on 11 ads this time around.
Always enjoy reading all the comments. We have an absulutely beautiful day here in SE Iowa today.
Thank you! I will tell him! I ironed about 16 different pieces of fabric for making the flying geese from and a couple of yards of light blue for the sky parts has been starched. Once they are made he is going to arrange the flying geese into borders. He’s happy with it so far 😻
LOVE that joke!!!
Lucky Minnie! Glad to hear she has a nice new home!
My daughter and her husband were walking on their rural road one day several months ago and heard a kitten crying in the brush. They found it, took it home, cleaned it up, and took it to the vet. He thought it was about 4 weeks old. When my daughter was cleaning it up, she discovered that the poor thing had no eyes! The vet thought that it was either born without them or had a bad infection in them. So now they have “Ray” and he has adjusted very well, although he still runs into objects now and then when he forgets he can’t see everything. Hard to imagine the mentality of someone who would toss a tiny, blind kitten into the middle of nowhere! If he hadn’t cried and been found by my kids, he would likely have been a snack for a bobcat, coyote, eagle, or some other predator…
Hi Gail. I went back to yesterday’s blog to read the comments I missed because I read emails early in the morning. Your daughter and her husband deserved all the praise in the world for not only rescuing that baby but also for giving it a good home. I love that they named him Ray! That’s a great kitty name and so fitting! Please thank them for me and give Ray a big kiss! Love to all of you and Ray. Linda in Michigan
Gail – please tell your daughter how much I appreciate her kindness to a tiny blind kitten – you just know somebody threw it in the ditch on purpose. God knows these things and will make them answer for their actions.
Great joke to start the day!
Minnie is so cute! No cats here because of family allergies, but I’m the go-to cat sitter for people in the neighborhood when they go away for a few days. I go to the house with a book, and read with a snuggly cat for an hour. Bliss!
No ads to close today
Jean – did you see Donna closed lots of ads this morning? I don’t know why you don’t have any unless you have some sort of spam blocker.
Mary I did see Donna’s response stating she closed lots of ads. Very curious why I don’t. I have gone back to the blog several times to check but no ads to click on. Will check again tomorrow.
Jean – I think you have to read online to get the ads – I’ll ask Donna for sure
Minnie is a cutie!
It’s been years since I heard that joke, but it’s a great one and makes me laugh out loud!
It’s hard to capture just how cute and tiny Minnie is on photos. She is so sweet too. Wants to be climbing or sitting on me all the time. My cats don’t like her but Sammie the hunter herds her in small areas and Nelson isn’t quite sure what to do but it’s good they are getting along because the dogs are stuck to me like glue. The pond is actually in front of my houses and I always have hand work to do so I can go there with the dogs and loose myself in the view and sewing.
I need to come up with a larger house for Minnie. The soft sided carrier is working but I have to give her some more room for a bed. She is using her litter box to sleep in and this morning had a messy back paw and was covered with litter even though every litter box will tell you it doesn’t scatter or track!
Thanks for sharing Minnie with everyone and Hank! He has grown to a beautiful red Golden. Love the goldens!
Love tiny sweet Millie and her new home. Thank you Linda for saving her.
Wonderful pictures as always.
I agree that I don’t care what the postage stamp costs for mailing to Canada. It’s a celebration of 90 years. I hope Theresa shows pictures of her new house once life settles down for her.
Kathy, thank you for your comments. I will find a picture of my mother in law and yes I will share pictures of our home once we move.
Minnie is adorable. I too am allergic to cats but they are so sweet.
What do you do with all the walnuts?
Carol – I put them out in the grove for the squirrels – I hate them and would never spend time cracking them. I just want them out of my grass. What a back breaking chore.
Be!st joke ever! Coffee went up my nose! Closed a dozen ads.
Minnie went from homeless to having a home with 2 body guards. Love it! Always fun to see Hank.
Finally got around to watching the friends clip tonight. 😂😂😂
I love those big doggies looking out for Minnie! Also love your jokes Mary.
How adorable is Minnie! So tiny! Linda, what a beautiful place you have! Always good to see Hank! Penny & Lucy are the sweetest bonded pair of cats. Pamela, that is a beautiful nature quilt!
Thank you! Penny and Lucy are sisters from an SPCA momma with FIV. They are adorable and sweet and Lucy is actually the smartest one 🤭.
My husband laid out all the squares for his nature/Fall quilt. Now I need to make a flying geese border all around. I’m going to try making the no waste 4 at a time ones.
Miss Minnie is adorable! Looks like she has a couple of sweet bodyguards too. I love the pond, wish we had one.
Hank and Keeper look so happy and relaxed 😎!
