Monday

Ok

Just look at those blue skies and all that melting snow on this almost – spring like Monday in North Iowa!  I was standing on a big pile of snow and I’ll stand there tomorrow, too, and take a picture.  I’m looking forward to watching the caucus tonight and then, like all Iowans, I’m looking forward to NO POLITICAL ADS!  Ha!

Today Gus and Claire are here just for day care but in a couple weeks they’re coming for over a week.  I wish

I could have filmed a video of Telly running across the yard with a floppy toy in her mouth with Gus right behind and right behind Gus came Claire – it was hilarious!

Connie and I took advantage of the perfect weather to move the IKEA cutting tables from the Civil War building into the south shop building.  When she gets her garden shed built, one of them will make a perfect potting bench!  Now we aren’t very strong and I know there are physics involved here and I know there had to be an easier way to move these BUT we got them moved nevertheless.

Here they are in their new home.  I can’t wait to  fill the drawers and shelves, hang lights and pictures and make them feel at home again.  Ha!

And one more picture of Claire.

I’m really envious of your sewing shop. All the wonderful space that you don’t have to put everything away before eating or going to bed. Right now most of our snow has melted except the big piles, but more is coming tonight. We’ve had it easy for snow up til now….. We’ll just survive it. Our big winter Black Hills Stock Show started on Friday and goes 10 days. Lots of livestock, rodeos, small quilt show, vendors selling everything and lots and lots of people. It is pretty nice.

Clair is adorable. I cannot imagine how Iowians are enduring all the politics. Tomorrow will see all those folks gone. Yippee!!

What fun, a dog parade!! That table is wonderful; you deserve a wonderful room like that with all you do. I”m still working on the rug and I still love it:) Yes, I’m sure you’ll be happy to lose the ads. As a swing state, Ohio will start getting them in late July/early August until election day. We don’t have snow now, but yours is pretty. Enjoy your cute little ones.

Claire is adorable. I love seeing pictures of the old shop area and still miss it! I am so glad you are using all this wonderful space and enjoying your days in the shop doing whatever you want to do!

Oh my gosh I’m all the way in Buffalo, NY and I am so sick of the Iowa caucus I could scream…the childish behavior of people who expect us to respect them in the presidency? OMG!
I love your carpet, by the way, the one with the beautiful dog resting on it. Great colors!
No snow in Buffalo, the rain and 50s took care of that. The birds are singing and the squirrels and rabbits are frolicking…so hopeful!

I look forward to your posts. I live in norther Wisconsin, right by upper Michigan . We have had a beautiful sunny day today and expect a big snow storm tomorrow. I do love being snowed in at least once during the winter.

Claire is such a scrunch, I’d love to just hold a dog like her. Here is Pennsylvania near Gettysburg we had between two and three feet of snow. We live close to Liberty Ski Resort so they have been having a really super couple of weeks. Today it’s raining but there is still lots of snow.

Looks like you mastered the move quite efficiently….I say, whatever works at the time is the right way! What fun to have so much space to create a sewing room to fit your needs.

And puppies to help fill your days….what a perfect day!

Mary – what breed of dog is Claire? She is soooo cute and, the next time around, we want to “down size”. What are the pros and cons of this breed? I think she is adorable….. Linda

I have always liked the Cairns. Spunky and smart. West Highland White terriers are the same, just bred to be white.
