I’m still experimenting so if anyone asks a question, like Jan wanting to know the name of Mary H’s quilt, please answer among yourselves. Mary H – please post in comments the name of your quilt.
I was trying to explain the other day that the Karl Forster grass along our ramp is not doing well there because it needs more sun so I have moved the smallest plants and have transplanted those little hydrangeas that I grew in pots after they sprouted last winter. Remember? Little by little I will add Annabelle hydrangeas and as they grow I’ll put my iron fence sections up to keep them standing. I have a plan.
This is not what I want to see on my dark red and very clean couch! Two white hairy cats!
More #3 finishes.
This has been a sad summer for me in so many ways – Darla, the white cat below, disappeared over a month ago leaving Mama all alone in the barn. She is lonely and still half wild so it would be hard to bring her into the house.
Wow! I received 4 yes four posts this am!! I am so glad you are persistent and want to continue working on this!!❤️❤️ I absolutely love seeing all the finished projects!! Gorgeous work. If there is a pattern available out there for the red wing blackbird I would love to be able to purchase. Someone on this blog may know of the possibilities? Thank you so much for continuing the fight Mary!❤️
Is that the one behind the couch? If so, I would love to get the pattern for it also. I love it!
The Red wing blackbird quilt pattern is from Laugh Yourself Into Stitches. Chezstitches.com . They also have an Etsy shop you can download the PDF pattern. Looks like Connie Tesene used one of the blocks for her mini quilt. Love it.
Sorry to hear about Darla. I wonder where they go? My kitty disappeared for a month and then was home skinny as a rail.
I hope you find relief for your knees soon.
Have a good labor day!
Your fence line looks lovely! So sorry you’ve had so much trouble with your posts!
Such a great picture of your house. It looks like calendar art. Thanks for sharing. Nice photos of #3 also.
So sorry that Darla left Mama kitty! Yes, so sad! You have done beautiful work with your garden flowers!! Love seeing the #3s, such great quilters in the group!
How about another barn cat for Mama! So sorry to hear that Darla disappeared. Who knows, she may still return to Mama. Thanks for posting the #3 quilts. Absolutely amazing. I received all your blogs today. Relax, enjoy the long weekend.
7 more ads to close! I love all your pictures…they make me want to hop on a plane and visit you. HA i laughed out loud at the kitties on your red couch. We have a chocolate colored couch that’s very similar to yours. I *just* got all the white fur off it and have been staring at it for an hour or so because I know it won’t look like this tomorrow morning! I feel sad for Mama cat and especially since you don’t know what happened to Darla.
I have 2 more Taxol/Herceptin combo treatments and then 42 weeks of Herceptin alone. I’m getting there! Still feeling okay…truthfully just want to be done with all of this so I can go back to my normal routine.
Question for Kay Crandall: what is the name of the pattern you used for your # 3?
Jessica – the pattern is “Stepping Stones” by Judy Niemeyer at Quiltworx. It’s paper pieced and lots of fun to do.

Great pictures…..very shiny windows!. I need to use the mixture you told us about….
I wish that you lived closer to Des Moines the ARL of Iowa has barn cats for people. I feel sorry that she is lonely. Did ads. Have a great day, Mary, I diverse it!!!
Hi Becky,
Do you recall the mixture for the windows? We just moved and the doors/windows here are ridiculously dirty, greasy and streaky. I wrote down what Mary uses and now I can’t find it. LOL Thank you!
Miracle Window Washing- one fourth cup of rubbing alcohol, one fourth cup white vinegar, one Tablespoon of cornstarch, and two cups warm water. Mix and put in a spray bottle. Hope it your windows are soon clean.
I’ll see if I can find it….I know I have it somewhere….
I feel like I’m missing some of the comments such as yours, Becky – you told Jessica in FL you’d look for something. I’m not able to follow the thread of comments like I used to. Grrrr… still not fixed completely.
Your the mixture you use to clean your windows…..
Oh goodness – old news. The only time I can now read the comments is the very day the comment is posted – gotta be on my toes, don’t I?
Those cats on the back of the sofa look very comfy; I love watching cats sleep. So sorry abt Darla and lonely Mama Kitty. Thanks, Mary.
But the kitties thought the couch was thiers!
So sorry about pretty little Darla
