Not A Good Day

I’ve tried this post several times this evening and it hasn’t posted yet. The results at the Apple Store were that my IPad is working perfectly. No answers.

I know this week how challenging Technology can be. It would be nice if we all had a 10-13 year old at home to help us figure it out.
I hope you don’t have to drive to Minneapolis or Des Moines for the Apple Store.

Karen Gaithersburg – the Apple Store is in Jordan Creek Mall on the far southwest corner of West Des Moines. Drive was 2-1/2 hrs.

Mary could it be a change with your internet provider. Could they be limiting the amount of data you can push through? Don’t have a clue if that could happe. The only other thing would be something happened with the blogger site and you are being blocked there. Wonder if it has to do with the hacking at the site. Of course, in the good ole days we just called people and asked them questions now it’s immpossible to find a live person to talk to.

Really sorry this has been such an aggravating pain in your backside.

Sorry Mary. So frustrating for you. I’m getting ads to close, though. Tomorrow is Sunday—a good day to rest and enjoy friends and critters and relax. ❤️

    Hi Mary,
So sorry that you are still struggling with this. It might be worth checking your plugins again: I know one of them was hacked, and that was causing your random old post problem, but maybe there is a link to photo’s posting too. Maybe their is a limit set for the data size of a post, and it won’t upload a photo because of that.
If you know someone else nearby with an ipad or lap-top you could try to see if they can post a photo from their device whilst in your home and while in their own. If it works for them at their home, but not in your home, it may well be something in your own wifi or network security settings. If you bolstered your security after the hack, that might be what is happening.

That’s a thought…it sounds like this is a problem with wordpress….you may have to just start a new wordpress account and begin again…
have you tried posting from a computer to see if it works that way? Maybe you have and i haven’t been following…
      al the best

I’m so sorry this is happening still. I was sure some setting was wrong and the Apple store would find it. Now I’m thinking Fiona at Ice Bear has some good ideas to try. If you can post at someone else’s house, then it must be a problem with your WiFi or net work security settings. I’m missing seeing your animals and interesting life on an Iowa farm. I wish I was good at this stuff myself, but I’m not going to be. This has to be so frustrating for you and I’m sorry.

Well, we all are sorry to not yet see and hear the news from the fair and daily life, but tech is such a headache… everyone understands and we’re not giving up hope! I see a lot of good tips posted but “I got nuthin’”! I’m technologically impaired!
    Fingers crossed….
I’m just going to keep on checking in and closing ads!

    Good morning
Connie here- Mary asked me to let you know that all is not well with the blog and she is worried it may collapse completely….she is unable to comment on the site either. Ugh
I’m hoping our host will be able to help next week. I have my fingers crossed- I am no help with this tech stuff!!! Enjoy your Sunday, I hope you are sewing something wonderful!!!

So sorry you are having so much trouble. Try to not worry so much. While I look so forward to your posts it’s not worth your stress. ❤️

Mary, Leslie and I think God must have given you an extra dose of patience! I am not computer savvy and would have lost patience a long time ago. We are a small town and I have found that the computer techs – and teachers who teach this stuff – who work for our local school system, community colleges or larger colleges are very good at solving problems and correcting problems when others can’t. This is summer but many are still on the job and perhaps that is an option for you. Good luck!

    Mary:
couple of questions….did you or the Apple store tech, try to post something while you were in the store? I know you can’t answer….if not, take your iPad to a friend’s home and get on their wifi network and try to post. If you still can’t, it’s something in the WordPress settings or possibly security settings in your iPad…if you can post from someone else’s home, it’s probably your home network settings.
In addition, try to post from someone else’s computer…just sign into your wordpress account on the web and see what happens….again, if you cannot post that way, it is a problem with the wordpress settings…
Have you spoken with wordpress tech support? I know you can’t answer:)…
lastly…try to relax…let it go for a week or so…your followers will survive:)
you may need to start over with a new blog….but maybe that will have to wait a few weeks or months.
    sending love…stop worrying

Jane – I did try to post while at the Apple Store and it wouldn’t. But Denise was able to post those screen shots in her technical advice post. Hmmm…I’m going to try your suggestion! WP support is non existent except for examples of problems and mine isn’t listed! No phone numbers for anyone of course!

      1. jane

Then i would think it is something in your WordPress account settings….how annoying…I’m assuming that the friends that you had try to help you checked your WordPress settings? I have a WordPress blog…maybe i’ll look around and see if I see anything in the settings…

OH, Mary. That is so frustrating. Sooo sorry Apple wasn’t of help. I am not either except to say we are all pulling for a fix. I did have ads today:) BIG hug.

  12. Judy

SO glad there is not an iPad issue-sure don’t need that expense!
And I am SO hoping that all these ads we have been able to click x are being recorded to your favor! Every time you sent a test, I was happily x-ing ads!
You are a REAL TROOPER to keep on working at this!
Yesterday I had to order my new MacBook Pro…I know eventually I will love it but have to admit I am dreading googling and you tubing what ALL newness can do for me!
I’d SO much rather be designing a new quilt!
But I will fluff my white hair again and be ready to impress the next generation that we-can!
    HUGS from Texas,
    Judy
