Now It’s My Turn

The test that I sent you earlier today was from the Verizon store in Mason City. Now I’m home and I’m going to practice this myself.Continue

Okay, here we go.

I think this might be fun! Does anybody reading this have an Apple Pencil?

Now I’m going to brag about our weather – I whine about the weather usually. It was 50 degrees today! I spent some time outside picking up sticks today and I saw people in shorts and flip flops in Mason City.

The goats can’t believe their good luck!

Whoops – I see a finger in that picture.

Betty visited us this morning

Our community is sad today. There was a very tragic accident in town involving 2 local cars driven by Garner women and one semi. One woman is dead, one is in critical condition and the semi driver who did nothing wrong was not injured. He’s a young man, only 22 years old and undoubtedly will be scarred for life – due to no fault of his own. We are all stunned at such a tragic death. Think of what Christmas will be like for her two adolescent children – this year and forever.

Mary, Sending prayers for you and your church family this very snowy Idaho morning. Plowing has been ongoing since yesterday early.
I’m going to ask my tech savvy son about an Apple pen. Looks great! Thanks for the demo!
    Enjoy your warm winter weather!

Launa – I want to write on my photos or use arrows to refer to something. I think I can only use the Apple Pencil on a Notes app and then post that page. I only have till Jan 2 to return it to Verizon. Please ask for me!

I too am saying prayers for the family, friends and community that are affected by the accident. Sad also for the young man, it’s hard to move on from that. Wishing blessings to all.

I have been eyeing the Apple Pencil for a couple of months — seeing your demonstration has made me now want to get one!

Sending my deepest love and prayers to the friends, family and commmunity of Garner. Fatal accidents are horrendous any time of the year, but it really hits harder at Christmas time.

Jessica – it’s a steep learning curve for me and I still don’t know if I can use it like I want to – outside the app. Do you know?

Leave ‘shades of orange and pink’ at the store ~ or I might have to get stronger glasses!! Have never heard of an Apple pen, but then I lead a sheltered life. Hahaha

One of the patients died yesterday, totally unexpected as she had been getting therapy. The cries in the hallway, from family, makes a person wonder if that’s the only way to leave this place?

I look at my own dysfunctional family and wonder why we can’t just embrace the “here & now” before that is too late?

50 degree temps sounds like perfect winter weather!! Hope it sticks around!

I have an iPad Pro but didn’t buy the pencil. I just use my finger. Last summer Costco had the pencil for $60 or so – maybe I’ll get it if I go to the Apple store and practice with theirs first. So sorry to hear of the accident.

Mary – I have till Jan 2 to make up my mind. No Costco and I always need help.

Praying for those in the accident, their families and your town. So hard, no matter what time of year it happens, but the holidays just seem to add an extra layer of pain. That poor boy will be scarred…I hope he gets counseling so he can really understand it was not his fault.

So very to hear about the accident. Lives changed in an instant. Yes, it does often seem that something like that happens around the holidays and I always think that must be sad for the families because they will likely now always associate the holidays with that sad event.
I picked up my daughter and brought her and her cat home for her winter break. Gizmo seems glad to be home and the dogs are interested in seeing him again. My allergies have already kicked in so I’ll be taking Allegra again for the duration.
I need to get busy cutting for the quilt along! I’m excited to be trying something new again!
Merry Christmas to all of you!

I heard about the accident. I had hoped you didn’t know them…sad but harder if you know them.

Glad to hear you are having such nice weather in the mid-west. We, on the other hand, are having storm after storm. The first one hit so hard, so fast, we couldn’t believe it. It didn’t last very long….good thing, because it was quite fierce. We were without power from noon to 8 PM. Not too bad. We have had longer times than that. The second one went on all last night making sleep difficult. We woke to lots of water in the fields below the house, but No power outage. Made my coffee just fine.

We drove down to the beach today and the waves were huge. Now it is very calm with no wind and no rain.

I have always wished that Jesus had been born in Sept. or Oct. rather than late Dec. Seems like so many adverse things happen in late Dec. Come to think of it, though, it was probably very nice weather in Bethlehem on December 25th.

It has been nice in eastern SD also. We even golfed Saturday… hard to get the tee into the frozen ground but fun to be out! Betty is one beautiful lab… so sweet. So sorry for your towns tragedy. So many lives touched and changed forever. Prayers to all…

So sorry to hear of the tragic accident and sorrow your community has experienced during this Holiday Season.

Mary, I have an Apple pencil and must say I am not getting near as much use of it as I had hoped I would. It is fun to use when I remember it can be used with what I am doing at the time. I look forwarded to hearing how you will be using yours. Enjoy.

Looking forward to the Bullseye sew along! Thanks.

Marsha T – I’ve got the app and blog working together but could I mark on a photo that I posted on the blog?

Loved your pictures. Flip flops and shorts? I see some snow on the ground and I must be old as 50 isn’t all that warm to me. Weatherman predicted we may have temps above 70 this weekend but also rain. This is Maryland, not Florida! It’s nice to have December look like a Christmas card but, also nice to have a lower heating bill.

Prayers for your town and all involved in such a tragic accident. So very, very sad.

  13. Carol

Oh my, there always seems to be something tragic like this close to Christmas, changing so many lives so quickly. I hold my breath every year when my sons drive home from Columbus Ohio/Pittsburg PA to Buffalo NY. This year we’re supposed to have good weather, not a guarantee when you live along Lake Erie. But that doesn’t assure safety on the road.
It seems like I remember another tragic accident in your area a few winters ago? What a shame for everyone involved, and the community.

Carol – this is the third year in a row tragedy has struck my church family at Christmas!
