Here’s Connie in the pumpkin patch yesterday. The white pumpkins were plentiful but several other varieties had only one or two pumpkins so Connie and I got those. Today I’m doing my fall decorating inside my house so I’ll post some of those pictures later today. Here’s my entry.
And it was so windy yesterday that one of my favorite pots with a tall cactus blew off the shelf and shattered. I should have realized that could happen with such a strong wind. Yes, hindsight is 20/20.
Just a couple of thoughts about Pumpkin Day — yes, there will be some quilts for sale but not hundreds like in June, maybe 20-30 in assorted sizes. The white pumpkins will be $2.00 each, the smaller $1.00 and the larger $5.00. We will be somewhat short of help on Saturday so plan on carting your own pumpkins to your car.
Until later today-
You have such great looking succulents! How do you do it? I love them, but don’t know much about how to care for succulents. I kept my outside all summer, but whenever we were expecting a very large rainfall amount I took them into the garage because I thought it would be too much rain for them….is that wrong? Also, the few I have indoors I don’t know how often I should give them a drink…how do you know or are you just on a schedule like once a month or something? I would very much appreciate you advice!!
Your yard/entry way look great. “A day in the country is worth more than a month in the city”. You are so fortunate!
Beautiful yard/entry way:) I paid $4.00 for a white pumpkin in Ohio Amish country!! I guess a plane ticket to Iowa wouldn’t be worth the $2.00 savings!! Have fun at your sale. Beautiful in Central Ohio today except the tree cutters just finished cutting down our 7 ash trees. Sad.
Good weather luck with Pumpkin Day weather and visitors. Wish I could be there to join in the fun.
Valley temps have dropped about 10 degrees and today is the BIG COUNTY FAIR PARADE downtown so no school today.
Fall is my favorite time of the year too. We don’t have the variety here in the stores. Every year I say I’m going to plant some, but seem to be gone on a RV trip during the time I should be planting. Plus our soil is awful, decomposed granite. Nothing like you have. When do you do your planting. Love the entry way. I need to get busy and get what I have out. Happy fall to you and all.

Coming to iowa in a couple weeks. From illinois. New great grandson being born .
Mary, what do you use to debug your succulents before bringing indoors?
Kim – I use any commercial insect control spray that’s safe to use indoors around dogs and cats. There are many.
