This collection of lightweight denims, chambray a and stripes reminds Mary Baker of the ’60’s. How about you? This quilt was inspired by something I saw on Pinterest but my method is lots easier. With an assortment of strips, 1-3/4″ wide and folded over in half, lay them across the designated background block and stitch 1/4″ from raw edge. Press strip over the stitching line. Then go back and top stitch the strip. Keep adding strips this way and that until you’re happy with the results. Do not make all your blocks the same!
Our kit will make our quilt 45″x48″. We have 60″ chambray fabric for the back. Order 1-1/2 yd. for $17.97. Kit price is $69.95 which includes the binding and pattern.
I just loved making this quilt and will make another one for sure. Maybe I’ll cut a bunch of background blocks and add strips as I acquire them from other projects. This will definitely be on my camp/retreat/class schedule!
I love this quilt. When I saw the picture of the quilt in progress on your sewing table, it looked like men’s ties to me. After my dad passed away I inherited his ties. I have been thinking about using them in a quilt. Hmmm…. Thank you for the idea. When I will get to it is another thing. Do you see my January & February projects on Pinterest? I think not. Thanks again for the inspiration.
Do you have your summer schedule for your retreats this year? Thank you, Cindy.
