Sad in Columbus

I had my vet euthanize Sally this morning- she was much worse by the time he got there. Now I will try to arrange burial with our friend Bill who has a backhoe and skid loader. This makes me very sad – I remember the night she was born, big and healthy while her twin sister Susannah was a scrawny 1.9lbs. It was one of the most fun times I ever had. Thanks for all your notes and good wishes.
Mary

So sorry to hear of your loss. I, too, live on a farm and every time something like that happens it is like loosing a family member. The fact that you couldn’t be there makes it even harder to deal with.

So very sorry for your loss. I keep seeing that last picture you posted of Sally, so very cute. She is free of pain now and grazing away in that big pasture of Heaven. May you get comfort in knowing that.

So very sorry to read that you had to do this all long distance. My 12 year grand daughter also raises miniature goats and the last time babies were born she held in her arms one that didn’t live very long. But every time one of the mama’s get ill she wants to be there until their end. She wants me to tell you how sad she is for you being so far away.

Oh, Mary, I’m so sorry. Our furbaby friends enrich our lives so much and leave such a big space when they’re gone. Sending my sympathies your way.

    Hi Mary,
I am so sorry you had to have the vet put Sally down. Thinking of you and of your sadness in having to put down such an awesome goat friend. Just know she is looking down at you and knows of the great care you gave her all of these years.
Good luck in Ohio and try to have a good time with your quilting responsibilities. I hope to get to your shop before the end of the year, or as soon as I can in the new year. I just got started in quilting last year, and hope to finish my first wall quilt by the end of October.
    Take care,
    your new friend in Wisconsin

    Hi mary,
Im so sorry about sally, and so close to losing your precious benji. It is amazing how quick we get attached to our pets. When my daughter was young, my dad gave us a goat named toby. We had a tie out in the front yard and he had his own lawn chair he would sit in and watch traffic go by. I cannot tell you how many times people would drive by and then come by again just to make sure theyvwere not mistaking him for a dog. Now i ask, how many dogs have you seen with horns??!! It was funny.
All animal lovers know that more than likely we will outlive our pets, but the unselfish love they give us, makes it worth it. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Blessings, Barbara
