Sew Charming

It’s Quilt Market week in Houston so that means our new book, “Sew Charming”, will likely be in your quilt shop very soon!  We received 2 advance copies a few weeks ago but I had no way of knowing when the book would be available.  I think I’m safe in saying that it won’t be long now.

These 18 charm quilts were originally made for Charm School but the beauty of this book is that every quilt has been re-made and is also shown in a scrap version.  So many times when I would finish the charm quilt, I would wish that I could make it again but of course, there was never time to do that.  So along with the original charm quilt, there is a second version shown in scrap for a total of 36 little quilts.

Martingale has these quilts for now but when they come back to us, I will picture each one and talk about both versions.  Wow — that’s going to take us 18 days of posting!  Yikes!  But actually it will be fun to see them again.  Connie will take them on the cruise with her for show and tell in January so we will post around the cruise.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I wouldn’t mind making a couple of them again myself so get your book so you can follow along whe we start our journey through Sew Charming.  I’ll keep reminding you now and then to check your local quilt shop or shop online at Martingale.  I will give you plenty of time to be ready and after we look at each quilt, we will decide which one we’ll make first.

Now, don’t panic – that’s the beauty of these little quilts.  They don’t take much time at all and you aren’t committing to a bed size quilt.  Wouldn’t you like to make a new table topper?  Or make a gift for a friend?  I would!

Will you let me know when you get your book so I have an idea when to start?  We’ll see how fast they ship and then I’ll set a date.  Thanks for checking in with me today!

Hi Mary – I do not live within 20 miles of the closest quilt shop.. Would it be possible for me to preorder your new book Sew Charming from you? I would love to have it. I only want to make one more large quilt and the rest are going to be small. I hope you can help me. Thank you, Linda

Linda – we will not be selling this book so you will need to contact Martingale online or call them. Do you need help with that?

Linda – I’ll bet you can order one from Mandy! Can I help you with that?

    Hi Mary,
Can’t wait for SEW CHARMING as I’ve looked thru the quilt pictures online and you know I love small toppers and using planned scraps. I’m pretty well “scrapped out” now, but have boxes of wonderful fabrics going with us; quilt books, UFO’s, a few works in progress. I’ve also packed a considerable amount of fabric and related things to send home with my oldest son for his wife and am still finding things as I finalize my sewing room today. AM VETS are getting a good share too.
Looking forward to SEW CHARMING and a sew along with you, my friend.

Well, this certainly woke that hibernating quilting bug! I have wondered for months what it would take to want time at the Bernina. Congratulations on your new book and now to locate a copy. I live 110 miles one way to the closest quilt store, but that never stopped me from finding what I needed/wanted.

I’ll be looking for your new book at my local shop. I would enjoy a sew-a-long. Some of the best quilts are those that have simple designs.
