Split Squares Sew Along

Today I will chain piece my strips and rectangles.

Here are some of my light blocks.  Measure your blocks.

If you’ve sewn with a perfect 1/4″ seam your blocks will not be square so trim them all to measure 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″.

Are you following along in your book?  Please note this step about trimming.

I will finish my blocks today and measure my cupboard top.  Go ahead and start sewing your blocks together if you’re ready.

I found Comma and the finishing kit in my UFOs! My daughter will be so excited to finally see it finished. It is her style and her colors. I am so happy you dug it out of that box because I needed that lightbulb moment to dig through my UFO stash.

I love the new book with its variations.

My pieces are cut and I am half done with sewing them together. I’m hoping to finish sewing today and square them up. This is fun. Thanks.

Hoping to sew today. The sun is out and I am wanting to get in a good walk with my dog.
Thanks for the note about a perfect 1/4 seam.

I have my blocks sewn and trimmed but will wait until tomorrow morning to sew them together. I like to look at them laid out before I put them together. Scrappy is what I’m doing. Thank you! Mary
