I remember this quilt! But I don’t remember where either. It was on my list to make someday but then I lost that list and started another one. Thanks for the reminder!

I’d love to know the “story” behind this quilt. It’s lovely. Might be my next “stash” quilt!!
Martha
OOPS! The quilt story just popped up. My internet’s pretty slow these days.
Sue R.
It was the February 1994 issue of BHG American Patchwork and Quilting.

Really? Oh my, I had no idea it was 20 years ago. You must have all the old issues – how did you know which one it was and so fast?
Ethel Alderson
I was quilting at that time, but would like to make the quilt.
Anyone have detail, pattern?
Thanking you in advance!

Such a sweet, simple quilt!
Mary Says Sew!
I remember the same magazine article. My memory says Country Living magazine.
I kept a laundry basket full of my husband’s shirts for years thinking I would use them in similar quilts, but finally let go of them when the quilts never happened. Maybe I’ll go to my quilt fabric stash now instead!
I remember seeing that quilt in a quilt magazine and since I have kept all my quilting magazines for many years, I probably can find it. I love it and want to make it now that I have seen yours.

I HV bck to Apr 1994 in BHG American Patchwork b Quilting…
I have searched “convent quilt” and came up with nothing and couldn’t figure it out. Why did I think scrappy pin ticking quilts were called convent quilts? Then I found this…I had that magazine and it said they were commonly referred to as convent quilts…but that must’ve been lost along the way. …regardless I’m going to make one with old dress shirts and gobs of white fabric I’ve been holding onto.

Mary, When did you mail the pattern for the convent quilt?
Hasn’t arrived yet.
I have obtained a copy of the magazine with the story.
I am anxious to begin the quilt!
Thanks.
