This is the view out the front door – just a couple inches of snow which is no big deal BUT our high today is 3 above. The dogs don’t even want to venture out so it’s basketball for all of us.

We got about 4″ at Shell Rock, looks pretty, but yep, it’s cold. Dog wanted out at 3 am and we took a short walk around yard. It was pretty much done snowing at that point. One nice storm, now it can turn into spring!
No snow in Dallas. I wonder what my cats should think.
About 10″ of snow near Chicago and very windy now and temps are dropping. On the good side we are staying in and shredding and filing all those papers that multiply in the middle of the night. Even got a little done on income tax papers. Whoopwhoop.
3-4 inches of snow so far, more this evening and lots of wind. The local high school game was canceled so we were home to watch all of the college game this afternoon. Purdue over the Indiana Hoosiers. Go Boilermakers!
The farmyard looks beautiful with the snow!! The cold, I could definitely live without!
My daughter just called and said she’d landed in the ditch on the way back from the mountains today. Thankfully, she could put the Jeep in 4-wheel low and drive out. No one got hurt and only minor damage to the car. Much to be thankful for!!
Temperature is dropping where we are in the Netherlands too, much later in the winter than usual, today was about 10 degrees f. Snow forecast for after the weekend. Quilting weather!
About 20 inches of snow coming to Stowe, VT tonight and tomorrow. I can almost hear the cheering. It’s been a challenge this year to manage rather sparse snowfall. In a place like VT everyone has the right tires, 4 wheel drive cars, and knows how to drive in it. I’m sorry to miss the beauty of it, but I won’t miss the -7 temp tomorrow.
3 to 4 inches along the middle of the mitten’s western lakeshore (mid western Michigan). Farther south got more… High here was 22 in the back yard. Sun was shining by 3 pm, so bright the dachsie thought it would be warm. Sunset tonight was glowing red clouds streaming off Lake Michigan. TV sports and movies, with lots of stitching being done here. Same thing is the plan for tomorrow. So glad I don’t have to go out in this.
Our 6 to 12 inches of snow is rain so far, but the snow is now coming tonight instead of today! We might get about 4 to 6 inches, but we are also getting the very cold on Sunday and Monday. Your barn looks beautiful, Mary.

From Idaho! Been snowing off n on (mostly on) all day. Both dogs would love to be out playing in it! I’m playing with fabrics. Not as cold here today, Mary! Last time I checked outside temp. it was 29 snowy degrees.
Plenty of sports on DIrect TV! Am ready for Bullseye Tuesday!
We have a temp of 53 here in the Nashville area of Tennessee. It has rained all last night and today, our grass is getting green and the early bulbs are coming up. Your snowy yard brings back memories of Minnesota winters.
My area got 8” yesterday and the same predicted for today. Church cancelled and most places are closed so people do stay in where it’s safe. I am finishing my blocks for Tuesday’s next step. Gosh I love the fact that I can use up all those miscellaneous spools of thread too with this quilt making as well as cutting up my flannel. I understand now why this quilt is one people make again. I know I am already planning a dotted fabrics one and a homespun one.
Kathy in W.NY – it makes me so glad to hear people say they love this quilt! AND plan to make another one!
Everyone talks about “stash buster quilts” but this pattern of yours truly measures up to it. It does use up fabric I have stored. I would love to send you a pix of my empty spools of various thread alone I have lined up waving goodbye to me!
Your yard looks ours; we had about 6-8 inches. The temp this morning was -4. Right now it is 4 above. At least the wind is not too bad. I just started making blocks for Kathleen Tracy’s mystery quilt for 2019. Her website is Country Lane Quilts. The mystery goes until June. The blocks are 4 inches. So many fun quilt projects to do. I’ll be sending in a check for the Valentine quilt and Beyond the Battlefield. Keep warm!
