This Is Tuesday Night

Are you not getting my posts? On Sunday I wrote that very long post which included the book giveaway. I had over 220 comments, maybe more, so I know many of you did get that post but when people write to me and say “are you ok? I haven’t heard from you” I worry that something has gone wrong once again.

This is what I told a reader recently when she comp, aimed of this problem. At the bottom of the email that you receive when I have written a post, there is an UNSUBCRIBE available. I would click that and then I would subscribe again on our home page.

Recently I have not been able to get into my administration page which is very frustrating. I am using the correct and current username and password yet I can’t get in. I could just scream! We have picked the book winners but until I can get in to that page, I am not able to send out the emails to the winners. Grrrrr……

So that’s all I’m going to post tonight. I’m watching the Dolly Parton Special and I am loving every minute of it.

I’ve had to resubscribe numerous times to get the most recent post. Would you consider entering the date, along with the title of your post Each time. I’m sure that would help Us computer dummies who have so much trouble finding your current post but keep finding older ones.
And, it sounds like you’re making slow progress in healing, although it gets discouraging to wear yourself out from PT and hurt all over again. Enjoy those new quilt books and rest. You’re getting there!

  2. Lynn

I don’t always get the posts. It seems to go for a week to two weeks I don’t get any, then when I login again, the old ones are there.

  3. Beryl BC

As far as I know I’ve seen all your posts. I don’t have it come through email, but do have your blog site on my favorites tool bar so it’s easy to find and open. It was a little strange that this one initially did not show a count of comments, but all the comments appeared when I clicked on Leave a Comment.

Hi Mary. For the last 2 weeks I have to search for your posts in my junk mail file. I don’t know why this is happening, I just know if I haven’t heard from you in a couple of days to go check there.

  5. Pat Smith

I am pretty sure I’m getting all your posts with adds to close. Technology isn’t my strong suit, and I feel sorry you are feeling frustrated with it—I would be too.

Sometimes I have to refresh the page after i open it for the most current post to appear. I thought it was just my computer but maybe it would help others to do the same. Not sure why, just know clicking refresh solves it for me. Hope this helps. Stay warm and take care.

Annette K – thank you – it couldn’t hurt to have readers try this!

The Dolly Parton special was good, wasn’t it Mary. Aren’t computers frustrating ! We need a grandchild around to fix the problems !! Good Luck, Mary. I know yo will get it figured out. Keep getting well.

HI Mary, Something is weird with mine because I sent a response to this email saying the same thing I”m going to say here again. It looked like it went through, but it does not appear up above. I tried to do the unsubscribe and resubscribe, but it will not take my Windstream email. It will only take my husband’s email. When I put his email in, it comes up in blue or black ink and goes through. When I try to use mine, which is the one I’ve used here for years, it comes up in red ink and does not go through. I guess I’ll just re-subscribe using my husband’s. Strange!!

PS. When I clicked out of the post, this one came up with my reply up above. Help, there are gremlins in my computer–lol

I think I get all the blogs and ads to close without any trouble. I think of you and your chickens and four legged friends that depend on you. It’s so cold and you may even have snow. We had a dusting Tuesday but it didn’t stick around once the sun came out. Looks like the whole country is below average temps.

Hi Mary, I am getting all your posts and comments, no problems here! Glad you enjoyed the Dolly Parton program. I have always had great admiration for her and what she has achieved and I like her music too, especially the Bluegrass. I’ve seen a couple of interviews with her in the past, and they were a scream: she ran rings around the interviewers. That’s one smart lady with a big heart, and a solid dose of common sense.

We watched the Dolly show and enjoyed it, too. I am reading the Mr. Rogers book. What two great Americans! In all this political disagreement, it is nice to remember that every single person can do something good to change the world for the better.

  12. Sheila

I received a post on Sunday and this Tuesday post. So I think I’m all set and will continue enjoying them when they come.

  13. Mary M Rhodes

Just let you know I do get your post! So sorry your having trouble again. Murphys law it seems. Love your post.

  14. Andi

    Good Morning Mary!
I try to read your blog each day, and I usually have to refresh the page to read the newest post. i figure its my computer, so have not thought to tell you that. You have enough to do with recuperating. Hope you are fully, firmly steady soon so you can be out with all your animals!

  15. Linda Baker

I’m having one heck of a time finding your posts, but am able to click on lots of ads while I’m searching, lol!
I’ll keep hunting every day, cause it’s like visiting with a bunch of friends when I read your blog.

  16. Paula

Hello, I love reading your blog! To help the people that aren’t seeing your latest post – I have found that the newest post doesn’t load for me and I have to “refresh” the page to get it to come up! It wasn’t always this way but, lately, it is. I hope this helps!

  17. Kathryn M Bruton

Getting your post, after last book give away, which I won! And was so excited, I was somehow unsubscribed! I am back lol. Didn’t enter last give away, didn’t know if I should since winning before.

  18. Sue H

I believe I’m getting the blog posts. Glad to hear the progress on your healing and hope it continues. Glad for the chance to win a book and appreciate the reviews!

Loved the Dolly Parton Show…watched it & was taping at same time, didn’t realize it at time but so glad, now I can watch it again. Things been COLD here. Down to 18 & had 50 mph wind gusts Monday. High yesterday only 30. I know ya’ll used to that type weather but we aren’t…Bella obviously liked it as she was frolicking in her pasture. Bob, one of my cats wouldn’t go to barn or get in the cat condo on porch (heated). Finally I relented & let him in, I think I have a house cat. His favorite place is utility room on top of deep freeze.

I’m receiving your posts and always enjoy them! I watched the Dolly special last night as well. Dolly and I have the same birthday, same year. If you ever heard me sing – heaven forbid – you’d know that God gave that talent, as well as the body, to Dolly! Technology is so frustrating! I got a new phone this summer and in the beginning I could take a picture and text it or email it to someone. I swear I didn’t do anything to this phone and all of a sudden it no longer allows me to text a picture; I can only email it. I’ve had a number of people look at it and no one can figure out what is wrong with it. It’s an Android so if any blog readers have any suggestions, please pass them on to me! I would really appreciate the help. 27 deg. here on the Eastern Shore of Md. with sun shining and blue cloudless skies! I am going to do some more Christmas decorating. Yes, the tree is up. Please don’t judge! haha I have family coming mid Dec. and no one coming for Thanksgiving so I am able to get this done without wearing myself out and will enjoy their visit more.
Mary, your progress is remarkable! So happy for you. From listening to friends who’ve had this surgery, I know you have worked very hard!

  21. Joyce from NY

Have been getting your posts ok. Missed the Dolly Parton show. Been snowing & very cold for last couple days, made cauliflower soup & sewed. Closed 3 ads. Hope your recovery is going well.

  22. Diane and Squeak

I am receiving the posts on my husband’s email so tried unsubscribing and resubscribing on my email. Hope it works. It wanted me to set up a blog or business so we’ll see!!

Glad you have your leg up and are relaxing. I know that’s hard for you to do.

  23. Carol at Pin Oak Quilting

The last post I read, you had picked winners, didn’t see names of winners, figured it wasn’t me! Glad you’re visible again! And lots of ads, yea!
Very cold in Western New York, 8 degrees this morning, brr! Might qualify as a heat wave elsewhere, but we feel cold! Until we got to the gym and it warmed up fast. Use it or lose it, boy, I hate the truth of that.

  24. Paula Philpot

Yes I got the one on Sunday for the give away and read just now that you wanted to see if we got it. Paula in KY

  25. Anita L Fetzer

I’m watching Dolly too. Just no one like her. Hope your knee is healing well. We got the Cold blast, its 10 deg this am BRRRR. I still remember that last hot week in Sept. 94 egg for days. Hand quilting a quilt I had put WAY back in the closet. Whole cloth, all feathers. I’m going to finish it this winter!!!!
Take good care of YOU. Anita

  26. Sandy

I haven’t been getting your posts got this one but shoot I missed the Dolly Parton special. Grrrr

  27. Carlie Holdredge

I’m getting your post! Glad you are doing better but sorry for the website problems.

  28. Sandy in Indiana

I think that I have been getting all of your posts 🙂
    lots of ads to close….yippee!

  29. Saundra

Hi Mary, I’ve been getting your posts. Thanks for all you do. I forgot to watch Dolly. Maybe I can go back and watch it today.

  30. Sharon Ray

I feel your pain in dealing with computers. They are great when they work, but so annoying when they don’t! Hang in there. Enjoy your blog so much thanks for doing it.

  31. Charlotte S

Mary, I have been getting your posts. Closed lots of ads too. Hope you can get into your admin page soon. I have a love/hate relationship with my computer too!

  32. Caryn Goulden

Hello, Mary. I got your post on Sunday and this one on Tuesday. There were six ads to close each day.
Enjoy Dolly and get a good night’s sleep.

  33. Betty Klosterman

Glad to hear you are doing more of the usual stuff, even if you aren’t going out to the barn. Better to be safe as walking on uneven ground isn’t easy. Don’t take a chance of falling.
I watched Dolly tonight and she is really a great entertainer, always ready to laugh at herself. All of her movies are such fun and her music is so good. What came to my mind was when she was on the Porter Wagoner show. We didn’t have a TV, but I went over to the neighbors to watch. As I remember they were advertising hand towels. Porter would be on stage and Dolly would come out from behind the curtain holding a couple towels. But her boobs were past the curtain before the rest of her body could be seen.

  34. Debra Miller

I think everything is working fine and coming through for me here is SC. I figure you don’t post everyday and I don’t comment on every post. Most ads are closeable almost all of the time. Glad you are healing fast and once you do walk outside without your cane be really careful this time of year for slick spots. It has rained here all day and will be down into the low 20’s or teens in the morning with possible sleet and or snow. I am not looking forward to winter-I stay so cold year round already.

  35. Beryl in Owatonna

Glad you are taking it easy! Be glad you aren’t going outside…it is so cold. More snow coming too.
I think I have received all of the posts, no ads the last two nights?
I have made a couple of pillow case dresses for Operation Christmas Child, now need to get going on throw to mail to Montana.
Hope your computer problems calm down, I get so frustrated with the computer and my phone! My brother is helpful, I am sure he will be glad when I get my apartment so I don’t bug him!!
    Take care and stay warm!!

  36. Diane Bauer

I’ve gotten “Recuperating is Exhausting” and “This is Tuesday Night” so think I am caught up on posts. Plenty of ads to close here.

I’m making toffee for 60 soldier boxes that will be sent to deployed troops for Christmas. Time in between batches of toffee has been spent stitching binding on one of the quilts I picked up from my quilter yesterday. I dropped off two more when I picked up the two she had–trying to clear off the backlog to make room for Uncle Santa and Oh, Holy Night when the patterns arrive! It’s so hard for me to believe it’s almost Thanksgiving! 2019 went quickly! I’m looking forward to being in MN for a couple of weeks over the Thanksgiving holiday, though that means no sewing!

  37. Tina in Oregon

Nothing since the 10th which is only one day (yesterday) not receiving a post. I just figured you were taking a well deserved blogging break!

  38. Kathy in western NY

I too watched the Dolly Parton special and learned a lot about her I did not know before so well worth my time to be informed of a lovely performer. Amazing she has given so much money away to fire victims in TN as well as those library’s she helps and the books she sends monthly to children in 5 countries. Wow! I always remember one of my happiest memories of my childhood is belonging to a book club and receiving a new book in the mail each month. Hope you sleep well tonight Mary. It’s very cold here so staying in and sewing.

  39. Jo in Wyoming

I’m getting your posts and a lot of others comments too. I shall get out and renter my email address.

A very long time ago, as a long distance operator, I had the privilege to talk to Dolly Pardon while she placed a call home..she is still today as bubbly and honest in person as on the stage. Under all that cosmetics she is a sweet person.

  40. Nancy Schulz

Tuesday night post came through fine. I do think something is amiss, as I have been watching for comments on your previous post with the request for the August dirty dozen number – nothing has shown up that I can find. Know someone must be able to help with that! The comments for the book giveaway came thru just fine also. Yes, grrr as it is frustrating for all of us who love your blog.

  41. Kathy Hanson

I was a bit surprised not to hear from you but thought you must have been tied up with something. lots of ads to click on so I hope that is helping you. I hope there are not anymore glitches in your future, it surely has been a trying time with the computer stuff! Just glad to know that you are ok. Glad you are enjoying the Dolly Parton program. I am getting organized for a quilt retreat at Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch for the next few days. Hoping that all is well with you!!

    1. Diane Bauer

Kathy–it’s fun to hear you reference Ironwood Springs! I used to take my daughter out there for trail rides when we visited my parents in Rochester each summer when she was little. She’s 21 now and still a horse lover!
