The top of this cupboard has become Millie’s favorite spot to spend hours. Guess I won’t be displaying anything breakable up there.
This sweet little carved goat was waiting for me when I got home from Columbus. Linda’s husband, Craig, carved it for me and I will always treasure it as a remembrance of Sally who died while I was gone.
We are working out the details of “trick or treat day” on October 12. We are starting a rewards program and a new SALE that is going to make quilting more fun and more affordable again. This SALE will change on the first and the 15th every month and we can’t wait to get started.
I hope I haven’t given the impression that contemporary fabrics have taken over the quilt shop. We still have lots of wool, dark fabrics, Civil War fabrics and punch needle.
Hot day today–hopefully some rain?
I love receiving our posts. Beautiful quilt in the background. So thoughtful of a friend to carve a goat in memory of Sally.
What a great picture of Millie and the goose. Animals are just priceless. I love the little wood carving, what a sweet gesture that was.
What a wonderful gift from Linda and Craig. Sweet remembrance of little Sally.
Love the quilt displayed behind Millie.
Thank you for taking the time to scratch out the farm and quilt news. I really enjoy this little piece of Iowa. I miss living there very much.

What a beautiful carving! I love it. Such a special remembrance for you.
I can’t wait for the details of ‘trick or treat” day!
I was going to say exactly what Donna said – what a lovely gift and I LOVE the quilt behind the black and white cat, beautiful picture!
If I didn’t live six hours away I would be at your shop every week, it was so inspiring the one time I visited a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to buy everything and my purchase was a nice blend of modern, traditional, kits, patterns, etc. If I had more time I would have bought more along taking a few of the four legged creatures. I definitely plan on returning. The remembrance gift of Sally, love it. What a blessing to have thoughtful friends. Love reading your posts. It makes me feel like I’m back at the shop.
both are adorable, I love reading about your ‘family’
