I told you I had a surprise for you Monday morning, didn’t I?

Remember this great quilt by Scott Hansen that was shown in Quiltmania? We all thought it was photographed sideways on the bed.
Connie especially loved this quilt and wanted to make it in a smaller version – here it is!
Scott agreed to include this version in his original pattern called United Colors.

When you go to his store to order the original pattern, use the code COUNTRYTHREADS2019 which will be good until February 14 to get 20% off any Blue Nickel patterns. Your order of United Colors pattern will include the small version measurements to make out quilt
We will not be selling this pattern from our blog – you MUST order it from Scott.
Now Connie wants to make the original size version. Here is a picture of both size A blocks.
Scott got interested in the small version, too. Here is his Mini United Colors.
Just anything goes, doesn’t it? I’m going to make this for my porch next summer.
Remember – you must order from Scott at Blue Nickel Studios with the code COUNTRYTHREADS2019 by Valentines Day, February 14, 2019.
WE ARE NOT SELLING THIS PATTERN! Please do not ask me where to get it or send money to me for this pattern. If you do I will simply ignore your comment and if you send money for this pattern, I will keep your money and send you nothing in return.
Can you hear the frustration in my voice. Country Threads is NOT selling this pattern.
Here is Scott’s link again.

We’ve never presented a new pattern in this way so I’m trying to be very clear. Please re-read this post if you have any questions.
Tomorrow is Bullseye Step 2. We’re going slow on our 48 blocks but that way everybody can keep up. Bonnie revealed the mystery quilt last Friday and I’ve been sewing for a woman possessed to get it together because I have several other projects waiting – just like you guys!
And here it is January 8 – past book club posting. Have you read any great books in December? Please tell me and I will post them next week for everyone.
Wow! So much info in this post. I’ll save Beyond The Battlefield till later in the week. Checks should be made out to Country Threads for $29.50 and send to 2345 Palm Ave. Garner, IA 50438. Our address is coming n our home page under our photo.
Carry on – until tomorrow!

Oops! Check is in mail & I made it out to you Mary….sorry, I hope this creates no problem. I am having so much fun with the bullseye, love the freedom of this quilt.
Nikki Mahaffey – no problem at all – either one is fine but readers keep asking so I posted it. Thanks so much!
I guess if people send you money for the pattern you aren’t going to send them, you can just consider it a contribution to your retirement plan and invest it! Amazing how people skip over the important details!
Susan the farm quilter – haha! I guess you’re right – sounded like a threat, didn’t it? But people don’t read carefully and I don’t have time to contact them.
I am currently reading the first of the three books by Gerald Durrell, the basis of the PBS Durrells of Corfu series, My Family and Other Animals. The next two are Birds, Beasts and Relatives, and The Garden of the Gods. Really enjoying the first book, the series is about the Durrell’s experiences as British “immigrants” to the island of Corfu, so autobiographical in a sense. The writing style is descriptive, humorous…so enjoyable.
Carol – thank you! These books sound good to me!
“United Colors” is a great quilt no matter how you whip it up! I am reading a Steve Berry book, “The Jefferson Key”. Thank you Mary.

I am ready for tomorrow’s next step. Thought I wouldn’t get there in time!! The last book I read was The Noel Stranger by Richard Paul Evans. All his books are amazing and this one was as well. It is small in size, as all his “Noel” books are but so very good. The United Colors quilt is really great – will have to send for that pattern! Thanks for the information and the colorful quilt!
Mary, you would have made a good HS teacher! I always put the info on my students’ calendars, announced it in class, and put it on the board every day, yet, sometimes kids still “missed” the info!!
I am catching up on the James Patterson series of Alex Cross and Women’s Murder Club. I thought I was caught up, but he just came out with another Alex across! Thanks for the Bullseye Quilt. I am saving the directions for our Guild retreat in February.
50 here today; my husband is golfing😃
Diane in Central Ohio – most questions can be answered if one just goes back and reads carefully. What’s the name of Patterson”s new book?
Target: Alex Cross. I love Fantastic Fiction for all the series in all the right order.
The Lying Game by Ruth Ware is a book we read in my book club.. I really enjoyed it.
I got my pattern bought today for Scott’s quilt. Can’t wait to start it…
I love your comment about keeping the money. I told my students that they would learn by reading the information. It didn’t always happen. The vivid colors of the quilts are wonderful for a rainy, rainy day in Wisconsin. I haven’t been doing much sewing. My husband had two small fractures in his left femur this time. He is in rehab and coming home on Thursday. It is always something. I did manage to read The land of Mango Sunsets by Dorothea Benton Frank.
Oh Mary, you are a spitfire! I love your spunk! My dad always had a saying about people who don’t read instructions carefully. It went like this: “ you give them books and give them books, and they still don’t know anything”. Ha!
Hi Mary! Love Scott’s quilt. I have some catching up to do on Bullseye and am about half done with the mystery. We had 3 grands here Saturday and 2 different grands yesterday, today was a go to Rochester day. Time to get back to work. I am reading Mrs. Lincoln’s Rival – after I read Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker by Jennifer Chiaverini. Interesting thinking about the history of the Civil war time.
Sherry Whalen – just finished assembling all my blocks but they aren’t nesting together perfect – I obviously made a mistake somewhere but will just have to sew them together as they are. This has been exciting – I’m almost sorry it’s finished!
I sent my today for Scott’s pattern! Can’t wait to receive it!!!!
Just kidding!!!! Oh my goodness I’m laughing so hard I’m crying!!!! You are an absolute delight!!!! Love your dedication to your blog and all of us!
Claudia Sheets – I hope lots of readers read your comment and see the funny side of my rant. YOU know me well enough to see the humor in my frustration – thanks for that!
Life After Life by Kate Atkinson and Fatal Winter by G.M.Malliet were both very good reads. The first is British between 1910 and 1950. Literary fiction. The second is a British village cozy mystery. Love to read about the winter in the winter months. Am I alone is this quirk?
I am currently loving “A Man Called Ove” by Fredrik Bachman. My daughter loved “Bear Town” and the sequel “Us Against You” also by Bachman. Since I’ve already read “Bear Town”, the sequel is on my list now too. What a wonderful author.
Sandra – one of my friends said she was ordering Scott’s pattern and then she laughed and laughed. Glad she saw the humor in my rant!
Sandra – just a friend laughing at me —- haha!
I love the color of this quilt! It is so vibrant! Thank you for sharing it with us.
