We had a visitor today who brought in a Dear Jane quilt. Ann P., from Blair, NE, told us that she has finished two of these quilts! Years ago we held a class and she attended. She took three years to finish the quilts. She plans on hand quilting it with a beautiful Reproduction fabric for the back. It was very inspiring to see.
That is absolutely gorgeous!! Congratulations to Ann and to Country Threads for inspiring this work of art!!
Wow!
Hey, I know Ann-we are from the same town! Great Job, Ann!!
Wonderful to see Ann’s beautiful Dear Jane top. Many thanks for sharing. Congratulations to Ann for making two tops. I feel so inspired I’m off to work on a UFO.
Absolutely beautiful! She should be so proud! And so should you for teaching her!
Nancy
That is awesome & TWO of them? Fantastic!!
Beautiful! I can see why it took 3 years to make!
Beautiful!
Gorgeous!! I started mine about 5 years ago and am not even near to getting it done, much less two of them! Congrats!!!
Awesome!!!! But after working on two of them I think I would be nearly insane. Beautiful work and what a treasure to own!!!!
What is a Dear Jane quilt, Mary?
The original Dear Jane quilt was made in 1860 and is a collection of many small intricately pieced blocks. Go online and look up Dear Jane quilts- the original is in Vermont, I believe. Amazing work done by candlelight way back then.
Will do. Thanks, Mary
