Meet Bob and Carolee from Bainbridge Island, WA, who stopped to see me last week.  They operate a unique home business called The Christmas House and every September they visit the Midwest in search of vintage collectibles to restock their business.  I met Bob and Carolee at the Country Living Fair several years ago and they have stopped by here to say “hi” each fall since then.  They travel in a pickup with a topper, a rack on top and they pull a pop-up trailer.  They are a fun couple to know and if you live in their area, better check out The Christmas House.

Today I met my friend Jode at Marigold Days in Mantorville, MN, to shop at the flea market there in the park.  It was a beautiful day to be outdoors and this puppy was my favorite “find”.  If she had been for sale, she might have come home with me.  There were so many dogs there with their owners – I petted as many as I could reach.  Ha!

For those who asked if there was a pattern for the orange and white quilt, there is not.

I am thrilled to report that we will start our “rug along” in January.  When we finish Gypsy Wife, I will post a list of materials to have ready.

Tomorrow I’m going to start picking the pumpkins for Pumpkin Day next Saturday.  We’ll have sewing room rummage, antiques and collectibles, finished quilts, Christmas, some furniture, and of course, pumpkins!  Come Saturday September 19, 9 am – 3 pm.  Also a rust colored leather couch and a school teachers desk, ice skates, sleds, snowshoes, Christmas greenery, and yard art!  We’re still cleaning and sorting – come and haul it away for cheap!

I’ve been to Mantorville for my birthday, years ago. Don’t remember the restaurants name, but remember some of the artsy shops!

Awwwww…you could have slipped that puppy into your bag and brought it home!

We are all going to make a twined rug together one step at a time. I will post each step but you will also need the book and the DVD which you can order from me for $20. I will post a picture of the rug again or you can look back to a post made in August about the rug.

Mary, I thought the same, but she’ll be considerably larger than Gracie; just look at those paws!! Am so partial to dogs with freckles!!
Got our flu shots last week.
Still experiencing bad air from the horrible destructive forest fires……but lower temperatures are promised to be on the way.

Reminds me of our Brandy. They are sweet dogs and great with kids, if only they stayed that little!

I just got done reading Our Souls at Night. I didn’t want it to end. Isn’t that the one you read a week or so ago?

    Hi Mary,
What a lovely photo with the puppy! I can see why you would be tempted! Good decision with regard to the timing of the rug-along: just the thing for after the holidays. I’m looking forward to it already.

A tip for fellow Gypsy Wife quilt-along participants: the Gypsy Wife booklet exists in two versions, the first printing/edition and the second edition/printing. If you have the second edition it says so at the bottom of the title page. The first edition contains some errors and a missing filler block. Jen Kingwell has published a corrections page: I have uploaded it to my Gypsy Wife Pinterest page at Ice Bear Quilts https://nl.pinterest.com/IceBearQuilts/gypsy-wife-quilt-along/ in case anyone has the first edition and needs the corrections.
