I was just too tired to write last night – I was up late watching the Fever game and usually I can write at the same time BUT it was so close that they lost by 2 points with .6 left in the game. So I just went to bed.
Moe arrived yesterday – I think she. Ishtar be the perfect dog.

My cleaning lady was here yesterday and we moved furniture, etc. The transition from winter to summer for me is huge – moving the plants outside, taking all the plant stands to storage, cleaning the plant area – ugh. But of course it’s my own fault, isn’t it? I can just hear my mom say, once again – MARY, you make so much work for yourself!!!!
Hank is going to visit today while Michele and I chat and then he’s coming tomorrow, too, while they visit their granddaughter, Maddie. I’ll have to get a picture of Maddie and Hank.
A reader asked about Hayrack – since I took the hayrack for the goats – why didn’t I just put her in with those chicks??? I had to pick her up this morning because the hens were hammering her back again. Animals can be cruel to a weaker “companion”, not unlike bully kids at school.
So many pictures to post – thank you to everyone!!

More later.

Wonderful quilts. So pleasing to the eye.
I came upstairs from sewing room to find it raining just a few minutes ago. Straight down no wind. We needed it. We are to get more. Didn’t ruin any of my plans. I am enjoying being home and catching up things around here. Getting some long arm work done!
Fran – I don’t know how you get so much done and attend retreats, too!! What did you have on the long arm?
Mary I had a baby quilt. My #9 greatgranddaughter needed a quilt. I now have a Betsy Ross panel quilt on the long arm celebrating 250 yrs. I will try to work soon getting some pics to you. They are on my cell and I use a computer for email. It wears me out thinking about how to do this. HA HA
Sorry to hear about Jeanne’s daughter’s issue. Hope they get the nausea and pain resolved quickly. Little Eloi I’m sure is growing rapidly!! They r so fun!
How is Michele doing after her hip surgery? It will be great to hear. Moe and Hank will be fun! Loved all the pictures.
Mary can you get all the way through the wilderness trail?
Yesterday was the last straw for me tolerating my hip pain and I went to the walk in orthopedic clinic in Sioux Falls. Couldn’t do it one more day! Well, they did X-rays and they are both bone on bone! No wonder they hurt. I meet with the surgeon on Monday. Hope he has an opening soon! They gave me celebrex, but I haven had much elide from that at all! I was hoping it was bursitis and I could have a shot! Haaha.
I picked up some sweet corn at the Fareway store. The check out gal said it’s been really good! We r having burgers, sweet corn, and baked beans (Bush’s).
Joy – uh oh, I see hip replacements in your future! Michele was just here – brought me your card – you make beautiful cards! I have several hanging up.
Yes! Now I can get all the way thru the wilderness trail – we’re back to normal! Whew.
It’s so good to get an update from Carol and Jeanine. Encouraging news about Elio and future procedure to be done in July and MRI after his plates have fused. So wonderful he is cooing and smiling and responds to vibrations through guitar playing. What a wonderful time you all had together! Jeanine, continued prayers for your daughter and son-in-law, chemo, comfort and healing.
Mary, the quilts are amazing! Such a wide variety. Each one so beautiful and unique!
Moe ~ What a sweetie.
That tree is beautiful! What kind is it?
Sally – it’s a lilac tree, I think she said.
Hi Mary, l wish Jeanine,s daughter and improvement with her treatment, makes my moans and groans insignificant! The triangle quilt with the Grey background is magnificent! Take care everyone, best wishes from Sandy
Sandy – haha! I feel the same way – I have nothing to complain about really.
Mary, is your book Rags To Rugs still available? If so, how much please? Thanks, Leslie
My email is not working!!!
Leslie – yes, it comes with the DVD – shipping included for $15.00, cash or check. I really should make a new rug – I’ll put it on my list!! Ha!
This has been a great quilt show week on your blog, Mary! Plaids, patriotic: fantastic! I watched the game last night, too. Disappointing, but a great game
Meredith – the Fever just looked out of whack – Caitlyn included!
I came home from my ladies Bible study and was happy to see your blog Mary! I give you credit for staying up late to watch the game — I try to do that and I end up falling asleep and missing the end….. 🙃 I’ve been watching the French Open — some good tennis. Still back in my sewing room working on a quilt. 😃 All the blocks are pieced and I’ve got 3 rows done. Progress!!! It’s too hot here to do much else. Hope everyone has a good day!
Wonderful pics today. So many great quilts and all the pets too. It’s hard to decide which collection of quilts I like best – the plaids or the patriotics, so I’ll just love them all.
Jeanine, so sorry about your daughter. I hope she finds some relief soon. I’ll keep her in my prayers like we all are.
Take care everyone.
Great quilt show today. I alasts enjoy looking at the variety of quilts. Have a great day everyone.
Another great show. The quilts have so much bright, lively colors. When I look in my stash, I mostly see darker fabrics but I have to use them up also. Jeanine, I feel so terribly sorry for your daughter and family. Here’s hoping her doctor can help her.
Wow! Another great quilt parade! I loved the mysterious Birds in the Sir quilt! Such great projects on display! I have gone for my walk which is 90% better for me to do since I had my varicose veins in my left leg ablated. Then I had to water my gardens. I am going to. Plant sale and to lunch with two of my former go-workers. Busy day. I must get the cosmos and zinnias in today too. Almost June..my favorite month! Be well everyone.
Beautiful quilts.
Just a note about our daughter. She is very nauseous and in much pain from everything. She has a call into her doctor. She is about to the breaking point physically and emotionally. This all started yesterday afternoon at 2:30. She is hoping this is not what the rest of the chemo treatments will be like. I wish I could be there to help and encourage her. Thanks for your prayers and concern.
Does she have nausea medicine? If so, please ask her to take it on a schedule. If she has been taking it, what is its’ name? Many people start out with a med called compazine, but may need to advance to ondansetron. There are also others to try. The first 2-4 days are typically the worst, but I know that doesn’t help when in the midst of that feeling.
Vicki – thanks for your informed educational suggestion!!
Jeanine does your daughter have someone who has gone through the surgery and treatments to talk to. If not I can ask my daughter in Texas if she you like to correspond with her. She had a great team of doctors and GP who stayed on top of things. It was ironic that her chemo nurse was actually from Iowa and so they could relate on things to talk about. Let me know what you think. Rita in Iowa
Rita – oh, what a good idea and so nice of you to suggest!
Jeanine – I hope you can pass on the info from nurses on this blog – it appears they’re very experience and educated on this exact issue.
Mary, Our daughter has two different medications, one being ordansetron, which Vicki mentioned. She has taken both medications, but help from them as yet. She is still waiting to hear back from the doctor. She is four hours from her cancer team, so that makes it difficult as well, and she is very happy with the team that is working with her. She just has so many other problems along with the actual surgery. Thanks for your prayers and concerns.
**that should say “no help from the medications”
Jeanine – I hope she catches a break soon. Would she and her husband appreciate cards or are they just simply too overwhelmed?
Mary,
I’m sure they would be very surprised to receive cards from strangers, but maybe it would lift their spirits too. They have had a lot of stress since this cancer journey started back in October with her husband. Do you want me to ask them? I don’t know if I told you that Kelley, her husband, resigned from their church last Sunday. He just couldn’t keep up with the respnsibilities of being a pastor.
That is kind of you to think about doing that for them.
Thank you.
Jeanine – yes, you did tell me. Please ask them and if you could include a picture and a bit of their history and medical journeys, I would appreciate that. Did you read Michele’s message about cards in tonight’s post? So at least they’d know the blog prayer warriors were on it.
The cards aren’t any actual help really but everyone who has ever been a card recipient is just joyful to have received them.
Ask please and let me know – I’ll bet a reader will
Suggest it before I even get it posted.
Jeanine = so sorry your daughter is not feeling well. I do hope the doctors office has called her back. One of the infusion nurses should be able to give her some good advice – she may need to go into the office/infusion center for IV fluids and some medication. I’m a retired oncology nurse — I often called patients especially after a first treatment to see how they were doing. They may need to make some adjustments to doses etc. Please let me know if I can help in any way.
