A Quick Post, 6 – 27 – 23

I just wanted to assure everybody that my plan for today wasn’t really my choice. Sam has offered to help me in the barn and soon she’s leaving for the month of July so I said yes. I will only allow us to work a couple of hours however.

How could I ever turn down such a kind offer to help clean the barn? She is so sweet to want to help do this – I wonder if she realizes how much work is involved. Poor girl.

Good for you to accept the help when offered. Bless Sam. Hope you have a good day … and Rick does too.

I agree with Sue…good for you to accept help. Too often as individuals, we think we must (or can) do it all by ourselves. By accepting help, we offer a gift to ourselves, as well as to the helper who gets the benefit of knowing they have made a positive difference in someone’s life. We all want to feel good and this is one way you both get a gold star.

    Best to you and Rick.

That is great that you received the offer and accepted it. Many hands make lighter work. You have a good friend in Sam. Have a good day

Lynda – after we put steel siding on the barn it never got put up again. Rick couldn’t get up on a ladder and neither could I. The red and white 4’ barn quilt is in the back of the shop waiting to be put up.

Great. That is so nice of Sam. Wear masks to keep out the dust:)

What a generous offer! A nasty but necessary job indeed and I hope those two hours meant a good dent in the barn cleanup.

Just a suggestion, Mary. Maybe you would consider a small mini tractor with a front-end loader. My husband uses one in our barn and can clean it quickly and easily. He scoops up the cow poop, turns around and piles it up outside. The Mesicks Co is somewhere in the Midwest and they are very helpful with videos, measurements, turning radius, etc. He used to do it by hand (and by back) but he absolutely couldn’t now. The little Kabota has been a lifesaver around here for a great many projects like barn cleaning.
So glad you have help today.

Well I’m really happy that you have someone to give you some help. When you or a family member is dealing with medical issues it’s so overwhelming to try to take care of them and everything else. Especially on a farm. We have under 2 acres, just outside of the city, but my dad’s side are farmers and I’ve been downhome and understood the work involved in farming and ranching. I also relate a little because my husband had a hip replacement and he also has Parkinsons. And I broke a foot and had surgery on it with plate and screws a couple years back and still am not back to normal. Thankfully I have my quilting and dollmaking, and gardening. Except today the smoke is so bad here in southern Wisconsin I’m debating how and when to go water. Asthma doesn’t like smoke! lol. Anyhow, sorry this is so long. God bless you and your husband, and prayers are headed your way.

Julie – I did not realize air quality was so bad today but I also got a notice on my phone!!

Julie – my reply “went” before I commented on your supernatural powers to overcome all of that surgery and still be a caregiver. Well done!!

Hey “stuff” happens! My days change like that a lot. When the offer is there you have to take advantage of it. I hope that you accomplish a lot today. And there’s nothing like that feeling of getting something accomplished that has been on the to do list!
    You will sleep well tonight!
And Rick looks great! Prayers for a speedy recovery.
    Take care Mary♥️
