He is risen! 4-20-25

Happy Easter, Everybody! He is risen and I’m off to church shortly. Our confirmands take their first communion this morning during the second service. There is a Sonrise service at 8, then breakfast (my chickens provided 10 dozen eggs) and then the morning service at 10.

Hazel had so many adventures yesterday I didn’t even have the energy to write it all last night so this afternoon when I can relax I’ll tell you. Honestly, you can’t make this stuff up.

Typical Easter – cold, 39 degrees, threatening rain and all the little girls will be in their sleeveless spring dresses – brrrrr……

Happy Easter!

We went to Sunday School and church this morning. We had an empty tomb in our sanctuary and we all had opportunity to go in it and see the grave clothes and smell the ointments that were used on Jesus. A very special day. He is not in the tomb…..He is risen!

We are getting a much needed rain here in SE Iowa today. We are so thankful. It was so dry. We have some radishes up in the garden and have our onions planted. Potatoes, too, but of course they are not up yet. This rain and some warmer weather will bring things to life again. At noon we had .5″ of rain, and still raining at 4:00.

Like others, always enjoy the antics of Hazel and Keeper. Have a great rest of your day.

Jeanine – I would love to see the empty tomb in your sanctuary and see how it was constructed – do you have a picture?

        Mary,
I didn’t take a picture of it, but I can when I’m back at the church. They are going to leave it up this week. Our pastor and wife are so creative. They actually made it using a rectangular tent. It really is quite special and really added to the Easter message this morning.

Hi Mary, 10 dozen eggs! They will be thinking you are a millionaire Mary! I hid a couple of chocolate rabbits under a bowl and told Luna l had captured 2 wild animals, did she want to look? With trepidation she peeped, then smiled! Rain today, going grocery shopping, then a new recliner, can’t recline mine now, too hard to work the lever, so a new electric one is the answer. Take care everyone, best wishes from Sandy

    He is risen indeed! Hallelujah!
Happy Easter to all of you. The weather is gorgeous here in Phoenix and we spent the morning with kids and grandkids. They’ll come over in a bit and we’ll grill steaks and chicken. Can’t wait to hear about Hazel’s adventures. Or would it be shenanigans?

Happy Easter everyone! 🌷✝️. I remember as a child being so devastated that I would have to wear my winter coat for Easter! I wanted to wear that new spring coat!!! Needless to say, not a problem here in Orlando!

He is risen, indeed! This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Drizzly, cloudy day in SC WI. The dandelions are sleeping; no sunny faces this morning, but still a great day! Kris in WI

Happy Easter to all! We went to church, joined by our son and grands, then back here for brunch. Food is consumed, Easter baskets ravaged and poof! They are all gone home! Sew day for me, but first – a nap! Raining cats and dogs here. We need it.

    Happy Easter to all.
Mary, I remember when you posted some delicious cinnamon rolls on Easter for church.
Ten dozen eggs is a wonderful gift for all the hunters.

Jo – I have been relieved of baking on Easter morning – I’m pretty busy doing my own thing and the days of homemade cinnamon rolls at Easter breakfast is over – the young women today bring store bought as a rule and I sure miss it. The eggs weren’t hunted – they were served.

Happy Easter to everyone. Nice weather here in Georgia. So looking forward to hearing about Hazel. She cracks me up and we all need to crack up sometimes. Speaking of that – all those eggs. What busy hens you have. They are certainly a blessing.

Happy Easter. Can’t imagine what Hazel and Keeper found to keep them busy outdoors. Always something to do on the farm. Just waiting for the rain to begin here in Eastern Iowa. Had my siblings Easter gathering last night. Over 40 attended. Lots of food.
Yesterday morning spent time picking up sticks under the pines along the road and switching winter machines to the shed and summer things to the garage. After lunch made 10 pounds of party potatoes for the gathering.
Today hope to get some sewing done.
    Have a great day everyone.

Happy Easter, everyone! Yes, cold here too and wicked windy but the sun is shining bright and it feels so good! Looking forward to Hazel’s latest escapades! Jan in MA

He is risen, indeed, Hallelujah!! Happy Easter to you as well, Mary!
10 dozen eggs!! That is incredible and what a wonderful donation in this day and age!
Will be looking forward to reading about Hazel’s escapades later on! I do not know how you keep up with all the dogs in the snow and mud. I guess Goldens love mud, too, but mine have never gotten the opportunity to roll in it.
We have had snow the past couple of days here, but this morning is sunny and clear and it should warm up again by afternoon. Yes, typical Easter–cold when everyone wants to be wearing their Easter finery! Have a great day!
