I Promised! 5-16-21

Remember this quilt picture?

I said I’d post measurements – here’s a small version.

The star points are connector squares on the adjoining rectangle.

Here are the corresponding cut measurements:

Now look at the first picture again – many of you noticed the nice quilt hanger which is lit. See this big guy in the blue shirt towards the back of the garage? That’s Joel – he made the hanger and he came to our garage sale! We all told him how much we liked the quilt hanger and he really should send the idea to a quilt magazine.

This sweet little girl from our church loves kitties so I took her some photos of my cats which, according to her mom, she loved and announced that she was keeping them in her room. Her name is Harriet!

There’s nothing more to add after seeing these sweet pictures, is there?

Goodnight, Everybody!

Thanks for this great post, Mary. I liked seeing the 8-pointed star quilt from a totally different perspective.
Harriet is absolutely precious. Oh my, look at those sparkly eyes, and I
    love her cute name.

My littke grandniece brought a picture of our little tuxedo named Kitty, in her backpack to kindergarten. When she got weepy, her teacher let her get her photo and visit with Kitty until she was ready to get back to group activity. She did this through September and finally got settled into the business of learning!

What adorable pictures to begin my day! Love a person with a heart for sweet kitties. I’m sure she will always have that warm compassion for animals by being shown it at a young age. It’s so nice you shared yourself in her life.

The quilt is amazing and yes to the quilt rack idea. Harriett has the most precious look on her face looking at kittens, how sweet. Thank you for the block layout.

Harriet is adorable and you can almost sense her reaction to the pictures. I agree the quilt hanger is great but shipping would be a nightmare. I can see many driving to pick it up.

Angie from Baltimore – I’m not getting into shipping issues again!

Love the idea for the toile fabric I have and puzzled over. um…wheels are turning now! lol Also, I LOVE the quilt hanger and have something similar I purchased in Paducah a few years back. Wish I had purchased a shorter one later and the maker is no where to be found. I would PAY to order such a hanger!!! 🙂 (the hanger I have is called a “Display a Way” and the maker was Jeff ???) The hanger has a unique way of distributing the weight of the quilt and didn’t need a sleeve. The one thing I hate to make…

What a sweet post this is. You captured little Harriet perfectly in your photos. She is so adorable looking at your cat pictures.

Do you think the small version of the star quilt would be pretty in red and white for Christmas? Scrappy reds and a white on white. I like to put a small quilt on the back of a chair and I need a red and white one for the holidays.

Your sale must have been so much fun. I bet I could have spent hours there.

Isn’t Harriet the cutest little girl?! You did a great job capturing her on film. I love the quilt hanger, that fact that it’s lit is amazing! And the quilt is gorgeous that is hanging in it! Thank you for the measurements, I would never guess that is how this pattern is made! You guys are so clever! LOL! We are going on week number two of beautiful spring weather here in New England. Have gotten lots done in the garden and have already mown the lawn a few times! Supposed to be getting warmer as we go through the week. Thank heavens for the sea breeze that we get most every afternoon. Jan in MA
